Director, Global Sales Operations Decision Support

Director, Global Sales Operations, Decision Support and Analytics


Advanced analytics is critical to the future growth and success at Marketo. Director, Global Sales Operations, Decision Support and Analytics will be responsible for the data, analytics, and reporting. The Director will bring thought leadership from master data management, its impact on data architecture and the transactional systems, through to End User Experience and ultimately Reporting & Analytics. This includes but is not limited to master data and hierarchies' implementation in the new transaction systems through to the enterprise data warehouse. The role will manage and collaborate with groups around the organization to pursue a coordinated approach to implementing master data and hierarchies common across multiple business functions-including customer, product, statutory company, geography, sales organization, P&L classification, and G/L account hierarchies-to facilitate better communication, reporting, and analytics in the combined company. The position will provide freedom to innovate, provide leadership, drive creative problem solving and challenge the status quo. Drive industry best practices for transactional efficiency, dynamic change requirements, and ease of administration.

Key attributes of a successful candidate:

  • Experience leading enterprise, global reporting, analytics and master data responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience building high-performing organizations and operating model
  • Experience with Sales reporting and metrics
  • Knowledge and experience with enterprise source systems
  • An understanding of the broader landscape of relationships and dependencies for master data elements
  • Strong understanding of enterprise system integration
  • Ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with cross program leaders (Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, HR, and IT)
  • Comfortable interfacing at the Executive (Vice President) Level and communicating both strategy and complex concepts in straightforward business terms

Leadership and cultural expectations:

  • Create a suite of consistent reporting and analytics, and have accountability for issues that influence data usability and hygiene.
  • Ensure that team is properly staffed and trained to support relevant area requirements
  • Ensure active ownership and facilitation of stakeholder meetings
  • Regularly solicit feedback from stakeholders and peers on reporting needs
  • Foster a strongly collaborative team culture (both intra and inter-team)
  • Drive teams to expand knowledge, contributions, and improve solution delivery methodology
  • Create a passion for continuous process improvement and quality of service

Education and Professional Experience Required

  • Master's degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • Ten or more year of progressive experience leading analytics and reporting functions, utilizing innovative and current technologies
  • Five or more year of progressive experience leading MDM and Data governance
  • Five or more years of experience leading large programs or transformational initiatives
  • Extensive Tableau, BW/BO, SFDC, Sequel, Aterx, experience
