Job Description

The Director of Business Development, Event Transportation Sales is responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving an aggressive, comprehensive external sales plan that increases the number of clients and grows revenue for the organization. Our ideal candidate will be actively engaged at all times with prospective clients through ongoing sales interaction, qualification of opportunities, and consistently identifying areas for shared growth for Unbridled Travel. This involves developing action plans for established and new markets, proactively seeking new business opportunities, developing and winning those opportunities, and building long term client partnerships. 

To excel in this role, you’ll need to be a self-starter who is ready to perform on day one. We're looking for leaders that love building relationships and have proven track records of exceeding sales goals. You will plan and execute effective outbound sales campaigns, with emphasis on lead generation and new business, as well as collaborate with our strategy and creative departments to build momentum and marketing campaigns.    

This position has the flexibility to be remote or local to Denver.

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • 5 - 7+ years of successful DMC/Transportation sales and strategy experience in third party meeting management company or hospitality industry – hotel sales, destination management sales, CVB, travel director, etc.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes. (PM - Responsible for forecasting and tracking actual revenue against forecast)
  • Proven track record of sales growth and lead generation.
  • Strong knowledge of business-to-business sales including prospecting, business development, and account management. Hospitality, DMC, meetings and events experience a plus. 
  • Demonstrated ability to sell using a variety of approaches and delivery platforms. Marketing, public relations and advertising experience a must. 
  • Experience in creating multi-faceted business plan by identifying potential leads through trade organizations, existing Unbridled’s vertical markets as well discovering and exploring opportunities through cold calling and networking
  • Exceptional relationship management skills

What you would be doing at Unbridled: 

  • Generate revenue growth using a consultative selling approach to grow existing relationships. Lead with a value-driving message and proposition that highlights our ability to effectively plan and manage all transportation aspects of a program, large or small. 
  • Identify and develop new business through personal sales efforts targeted to prospective accounts. Create and target a list of high value prospective accounts utilizing available resources.
  • Work collaboratively with account management teams across the Unbridled portfolio spectrum to provide excellent client service across all accounts. 
  • Travel as needed to meet with prospective clients as well as attend networking events in order to promote Unbridled Travel and showcase services.
  • Conduct a quarterly business development strategy process to include performance objectives, financial targets, account growth plans, and detailed action plans to continually grow revenue share.
  • Meet assigned targets for growing profitable sales volume and achieving strategic objectives for new and emerging verticals. 
  • Embody the Unbridled brand and culture, including: character, change, credibility, and community
