Who We Are

 

Nylas was founded in 2013 by a couple of MIT graduates who were passionate about making complex systems simpler. Co-founder and CTO Christine Spang saw that email use was growing at a steady rate, yet there wasn’t a simple way to unify this data-rich tool in a way that developers could easily integrate with this data. She and a small team (at the time) set out to fix this. Fast-forward to 2020, Nylas has successfully raised funding from Spark Capital, 8VC, ScaleUP, Round13, Citi Ventures, Slack Fund, Data Collective, Fuel Capital, and SV Angel. Nylas customers span from large enterprises such as Hyundai, Fox News Corp, Hubspot and Move.com to high-growth start-ups like Dialpad, Pipedrive, Lexicata, and Sparkpost.

The Role:

At Nylas we truly value our people and strive to create an environment of growth. We provide our sales reps with more responsibility and autonomy than most. Performance metrics will be used to coach and guide you to your best performance and you will be managed by leaders who have your best interests in mind for today, and with an eye towards your future career path. In this role you will need to leverage business development skills for researching prospects and leads provided by Marketing. Leads will come to you daily. Some will be complete and ready to move forward, some will require research and creativity to be fulfilled. 

What You'll Do

  • Build out and manage a team of BDRs in our Toronto office
  • Provide day to day coaching & professional development, including weekly 1:1 meetings, weekly shadow sessions, and routine co-selling
  • Understand the nuances between verticals within our ideal customer profile segments
  • Work closely with Sales Directors to ensure the most effective targeting of the BDR team.
  • Lead weekly team meetings & call coaching sessions, prioritizing objectives for your team.
  • Continue to grow the team through recruiting, onboarding, and training new BDRs
  • Drive strategic initiatives across BDR to increase profit contribution
  • Optimize the BDR program in Toronto across all our KPIs and deliver ROI
  • Track and communicate weekly goals to team to drive consistent performance week over week
  • Become an integral part of BDR Sales Leadership at Nylas

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in a sales closing role or 1+ years of experience managing a sales development or sales team
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • A track record of problem-solving and fearless with trying new ideas and concepts
  • Undeniable passion for Nylas and Nylas Sales specifically
  • Ability, knowledge, and hunger to step in as player-coach on a daily basis that includes tactical management of reps, outbound calls & shadows, and superior knowledge in SFDC operations
  • Background of hiring, training, and enabling reps for success
  • Impeccable organizational and time management skills
  • You are a power SFDC user, experience with SalesLoft or Gong is a plus.
  • Highly self-motivated and results driven.
  • Familiarity with the SaaS industry is a plus (but not a necessity).

Compensation Range:

$80,000 - $110,000 + equity
