Business Development Manager - Public Sector

Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH Wireless plans to leverage its deep portfolio spectrum to become a leading enabler of private wireless services in the United States. This is a first step towards a broader strategy to build a nationwide 5G SA greenfield network that will have a focus on differentiated enterprise wireless services. We are seeking an experienced telecom industry professional to drive DISH's efforts to work with partners to jointly sell wireless services to public sector customers, notably including the US Department of Defense. We are looking to grow significantly in the public sector market and this is a key role to define and position our new service offering. The ideal candidate is smart, ambitious, customer focused and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. S/he will have experience in the public sector, preferably defense, and have proven ability to develop relationships with sales partners, to understand customer problems and to work within a partnership structure to define and implement solutions that enable customers to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and structure potential subcontractor relationships with "prime" contractors that have experience and qualifications required to sell directly to public sector entities including DOD
- Engage with DISH sales partners to support partner efforts to sell private wireless to public sector customers, including responding to RFPs
- Act as advocate for partner to make sure they get what they need from DISH to make selling process as efficient as possible.
- As needed, engage directly with customers to build DISH brand awareness in public sector and to support partner effort to sell wireless services
- Work collaboratively with DISH leadership, product, IT and network organizations to develop solutions that meet partner and customer needs and satisfy reporting and other requirements of public sector customers.
- As Dish wireless network moves into commercial deployment, source and structure deals that deliver value to customers and drive additional revenue to DISH.
- Help develop internal approach to track, analyze and report on sales activities and ultimately provide accurate and timely forecasts.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related degree
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or related role within telecommunications industry
- Demonstrated experience in the public sector space
- Existing relationships at DOD and/or military background a plus.
- Strong financial acumen
- Ability to think strategically while also operating tactically
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed, with potential for significant travel within the US
Salary Range
Compensation: $76,300.00/Year - $109,000.00/Year
