Associate, Employer Success

Our platform helps employers offer education as a benefit to their employees by connecting employers' workforces with our network of nonprofit universities and education institutions that focus on serving the needs of working adults. And, our team of retention coaches helps each employee navigate the path back to school, providing individualized support from day one through graduation. In order to accelerate our growth and achieve our mission to serve 1000s more students, we've raised over $70 million from top tier investors including Felicis Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Redpoint Ventures (among other social impact and VC partners!). Now we’re looking to add an Associate of Employer Success to the team.

As the Associate of Employer Success, you’ll play a central role in Guild’s mission by building and maintaining strong relationships with current and new Fortune 1000 clients that position the Guild partnership as a sustainable and valuable long-term asset to their organizations. You’ll initially report to a Director of Employer Success on our team. In this role, you’ll develop an intimate understanding of the workflows and needs of our partners and their employees to drive behavior and feed new value-creating solutions back to our internal teams.

A day in our open, collaborative workspace will look a little like this:

  • Client relationship management
    • Develop and grow relationships with HR, L&D, and other key contacts at F1000 employer partners
    • Build models and presentations for clients to drive client understanding and decision making
    • Communicate with clients over the phone and in person and advocate client needs/issues across internal and client teams
  • Cross-functional problem solving
    • Lead on solving client escalations and issues in conjunction with other teams in the org (product/tech, student facing teams, payments team, etc.)
    • Work cross-functionally throughout Guild (with product, strategy, enrollment services, university partnerships) to problem solve ways to better serve and grow client relationships (e.g., what academic programs should we add, what issues are facing the enrollment funnel)
    • Serve as a liaison between the accounts team and student facing teams to answer questions about data and employer policies
  • Strategic insight gathering
    • Perform research and gather insights to inform strategic decisions for clients (e.g., answer questions like “what should a nursing pathway look like for DaVita?”)
    • Understand the primary opportunities and issues that our student facing teams are learning from students
    • Build and maintain client playbooks to support internal understanding of clients’ needs and identify areas of opportunity
    • Pull together information and data about our employers and students to support ad hoc employer and internal requests

In this role, you’ll grow and expand your skills by:

  • Taking on a cross-functional role that will expose you to the ins and outs of Guild (working with our Enrollment, Marketing, Product, and Design teams)
  • Supporting the Employer Success team to build and manage strong relationships with Fortune 1000 clients that position Guild as a valuable long-term partner
  • Refining your ability to extract insights from data, and build top notch presentations for clients
  • Receiving feedback through our learning-focused, twice annual Structured Growth Conversations

You’ll know if you’re successful by:

  • Partnering cross-functionally to respond to client needs
  • Managing employer and student escalations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Driving insights about our employers and their employees to help the team add more value for our partners
  • Delivering increased student enrollment, engagement, and retention to our clients

What you’ll add to Guild - as an individual and part of the broader team:

  • 2+ years of total experience in a strategic, consulting or account management role
  • Ability to relate to a broad range of people
  • Organized with a high attention to detail and the ability to keep track of both the high level progress and the small details
  • Ability to engage cross-functionally with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to solve problems
  • Evidence of your intellectual curiosity
  • A drive to work hard and a plan for how you can refresh/recharge while working in a startup
