To meet the diverse needs of our students and their career goals, Guild partners with academic providers and offers many types of academic programs - from trades programs to college prep classes to bachelor’s degrees. The Academic Account Manager will focus on one or multiple academic partnerships as the partnership lead. You’ll work closely to manage the partnership externally, manage the daily internal operations of the academic program or programs, and manage to strong outcomes for students. The Account Manager is fluent in every aspect of their program portfolio’s health: output, outcomes, trends, relationships, business and strategic position.

A day in our open, collaborative workspace will look a little like this:

  • Managing the external partnership or “account” in one or more of these academic verticals: (such as University Bachelors or Masters programs, High School Completion, Skilled Trades, Language courses, or College Preparatory Programs)
    • Leads weekly check-in calls with the academic partner
    • Creates process of shared learnings with external partner, providing space to both provide and receive feedback
  • Managing the day-to-day operations
    • Examines reports in Salesforce or Looker to manage student progress
    • Works collaboratively with student coaches to support students
    • Leads operational processes during enrollment, add drop and completion periods
  • Managing to strong outcomes
    • Monitors key success metrics like yield, retention, completion and NPS
    • Utilizes qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities to grow, change or develop the program
    • Spurs to action relevant cross-functional teams based on identified gaps or improvements needs, ensuring the work is completed on time and to expectation

In this role, you’ll grow and expand your expertise by:

  • Improving performance of your account(s):
    • Examines trends across the student funnel, identifying potential roadblocks and positive changes
    • Runs regular retrospectives around enrollment and student success; implementing learnings into next cycle
    • Creates consistent communication strategy to both partners and internal stakeholders, sharing priorities, outcomes and learnings
  • Improving processes of your account(s):
    • Meets with key stakeholders internally to understand areas of strength and pain points
    • Spearheads conversations around needed data or operational improvements, achieving buy-in need to deliver cross-functional asks
    • Re-evaluates contract, data integrations and billing processes as needed

  • Managing towards strong student outcomes and academic partner satisfaction
  • See improvement in student enrollment, retention, and completion rates overtime as a result of your insights and cross-functional iterations
  • Receiving feedback through our learning-focused twice annual Structured Growth Conversations

What you’ll add to Guild - as an individual and part of the broader team:

  • Passion for higher education and our mission
  • Previous experience as an account or program manager in a related field, with strong partnership management
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex, cross-functional projects at the same time
  • Experience using analytical approaches to develop, measure and evolve processes
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and communicate effectively while under pressure - balancing confidence, humility, and diplomacy internally and externally

  • Previous experience in a high growth tech startup
