  • The Sales Analytics Lead will be responsible for transforming Sales Operations’ sales analytics capabilities by defining a suite of key sales metrics for the DigitalGlobe global sales team in coordination with stakeholders across sales management and business executives. This role will work closely with sales and finance leadership to understand the evolving customer, market and business strategies of each Business Unit and design a robust suite of measurement tools to assess progress against strategic initiatives and key performance indicators. This position will gain deep understanding of DigitalGlobe’s sales channels and business models to provide insight and recommendations on sales territory design and optimization to sales and business leadership; the ideal candidate must be able to understand complex global business environments and design analytic tools and outputs accordingly. The Sales Analytics Lead will utilize and must gain expertise in all internal data sources and data tools available including Salesforce.com, SAP, Business Objects, and others as available. The ideal candidate will also have a background and deep understanding in data architecture and design and data governance best practices. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have the ability to work on tactical, day-to-day reporting items, while also thinking strategically to design for future state.
    • Work with executive stakeholders to manage the design and creation of sales Key Performance Indicators, identifying areas for automation where possible
    • Produce executive summaries and analysis readouts on a regular basis to provide the needed insights for key business decisions, territory design recommendations, etc.
    • Advise Customer and Sales Operations leadership on recommendations for data architecture improvements and analytic investments, creating a roadmap for improved sales analytics for DigitalGlobe
    • With Global Sales Operations Analyst, define data structure needed for improved reporting and analytic capabilities, based on current and future-state business needs and market evolution
    • Work closely with the Global Sales Operations Analyst to assist with end-of-quarter close activities, including reviewing and reconciling close reports with sales management to ensure accurate quarterly revenue predictions and deliveries
    • Assist the Global Sales Operations Analyst in ad hoc reporting or analysis requests on an ongoing basis
    • Serve as primary Sales Operations representation on DigitalGlobe’s data governance board, leveraging knowledge of sales and company data to make Data Governance recommendations
    • Proactively identify performance indicators and key areas for analysis to inform constant improvement in the sales process, training gaps, market trends, etc.
    • Serve as consultant for future systems designs to enable accurate metrics and data gathering throughout the sales and delivery processes
    • Assess progress against strategic Business Unit initiatives and make recommendations to sales leadership to improve territory design or go-to-market structures to successfully execute growth strategies; provide other strategic recommendations as appropriate

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelors Degree required.
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in data analysis, financial analysis, sales strategy or sales analysis and reporting design
    • Ability to think both strategically and tactically to execute against current state asks, while designing and building for a more optimal future state
    • Ability to project manage cross-functional teams to execute against identified improvement projects and initiatives
    • Self-starter with ability to work independently and with a team to drive results
    • Willingness to take ownership of project execution and drive to results in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to meet deadlines and also deal with rapid change and evolution within the business and marketplace
    • Must be highly motivated within a proven track record for achieving results
    • Extreme attention to detail and passion for accuracy in all reporting and data gathering
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally across multiple stakeholders
    • Strong excel skill and analytic experience; relational database or SQL experience a plus
    • Familiarity with broad suite of reporting and analytic tools, including emerging data visualization platforms such as Domo, Wave, etc.
    • Sales experience a plus
    • Sales Operations experience a plus
    • GIS background or experience is a plus
