The Global Localization Specialist will be an important part of the localization team responsible for supporting Zoom’s Localization Program as we continue our worldwide growth. Working closely with Zoom’s Lead Localization Manager, this position entails collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver localized content that will help ensure customer happiness. This role will be remote to start but will eventually transition to onsite in Zoom’s Denver office (return-to-office timing is TBD).

Responsibilities
 

  • Own end-to-end process for localization requests from Web team (primary focus) and a variety of internal stakeholders across multiple teams.

    • Your first priority will be to assist the Web Team with their localization projects 

    • You will help drive and take ownership for the successful localization of Zoom’s website

    • Scope of Website localization includes both existing pages and new pages. It also includes currently supported languages, as well as languages we’ll add in the future

    • Periodic quality audits, including both linguistic and functional quality

  • Assist with localization projects from other content areas as needed. Our team works together closely to make sure no requests fall through the cracks. 

    • Ensure timely and high-quality localization deliverables

    • Clearly communicate expectations between internal stakeholders and external providers to meet, often urgent, company needs. 

    • Own ticket creation, see through to resolution and provide updates to stakeholders

    • Work with vendors and manage projects within existing and evolving translation technology framework (Translation Management System, Content Management System)

    • Follow best practices for the localization industry and those established as part of Zoom’s Localization Program. 

    • Seek to understand overall company direction and business needs and prioritize accordingly

    • Be on the look-out for ways to improve our global presentation and proactively make improvements where needed. 

    • Support Localization Program by raising awareness on areas of operational improvement. 

 

Required Skills and Experience
 

  • Native fluency in at least one other language besides English (French or German preferred)

  • 3+ years experience working in the Localization Industry

  • Experience with common Translation Management Systems

  • Skilled at resolving quality issues/concerns while maintaining a positive dialogue

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Deep knowledge of standard localization tools and best practices

    • Experience with budget management and tracking

    • Exceptional project management skills

    • Proven ability to contribute to cross-functional, global teams

    • Self-motivated and resourceful, ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

    • Top-notch organizational skills

    • Positive, team player!

    • Bachelor’s degree required

    • Comfortable working with common web Content Management Systems a plus, especially WordPress.

    • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing a plus 

    • HTML coding experience a plus
