At Iontra, our team is comprised of veteran technology and business builders, including former NASA / CalTech Ph.D. and the executive management team that developed and launched the highly successful Proterra electric bus and charging infrastructure company.

We are involved in the development of important battery improvement and enabling technologies. This is a full-time, hands-on role in a fast-paced startup environment. We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join the team.  This position will be responsible for successful initiation and management of strategic and improvement initiatives. These on-going programs will involve multiple projects along with operational components that require coordination with other programs. Efficient development is required by creating and maintaining a streamlined process, and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and facilitate communication across engineering, operations, industrial design, and our vendor partners to meet aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs.
  • You have significant agile/lean experience in a product owner or scrum master role, organizations leveraging lean/agile methodologies, and in-depth experience with specific agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • You have led multiple technical programs for a technology company, leading cross-functional teams to take products to market, ensuring success metrics are informing future efforts, and fine-tuning the program as needed.
  • Drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision-making to meet overall project objectives.
  • Report progress and status of projects along with PMO on a timely basis with emphasis on reporting results.
  • Align, tack, and ensure proper execution of project and operational work.
  • Manage product realization and project management processes to deliver innovation quickly and with excellent quality.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in a Technical Project Manager role leading highly complex technical development projects.
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering degree required.
  • You capably elicit high-level requirements from both business and technical stakeholders and can translate those into a detailed, prioritized backlog of work actionable by systems engineers and software developers.

  • Support and lead in an Agile operation team i.e., Click Up or Jira.
  • The ability to work and communicate with distributed teams.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be detailed-oriented.
