The Technical Project Manager creates and owns the project plan for the Ethics & Compliance Portal engagements. As the Technical PM, you will partner with the customer, Customer Success Manager, external web development vendor, your fellow Product team and our internal engineering team to deliver the desired customer outcomes. You will map out the big picture and the finer details to manage the schedule, risks, scope, changes, and project communication. Most importantly, you will manage to the desired outcomes and benefits, to deliver the most value to the customer. The Technical Project Manager will report directly to the Ethics & Compliance Portal Product Manager and will be a key contributor to overall product strategy as part of the Product organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure project plans and drive delivery according to plan, creating accountability for internal, external and customer teams
  • Ensure all team members understand the project goals, desired outcomes and their role in achieving those outcomes
  • Manage work schedule and track budget for external development team
  • Partner with the Product Manager to contribute to the product backlog and inform overall roadmap based on interaction with customers
  • Absorb, track, and communicate changes
  • Lead customer and internal project communication to manage expectations of timing and deliverables
  • Provide status updates regularly and proactively to build trust with the customer, the web development vendor and greater organization
  • Engage internal leaders and subject matter experts, as appropriate, to promote success for the engagement and the customer
  • Regularly evaluate progress of the engagement against the desired outcomes and adjust accordingly
  • Maintain product expertise across the Convercent Ethics & Compliance Portal
  • Maintain awareness of the Ethics and Compliance environment as it relates to the product
  • Evaluate project management practices and contribute to improving those practices

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing software implementations. The ideal candidate has experience setting clear expectations with the customer for implementation by planning to the extreme with the ability to gracefully pivot when evolving goals and priorities inspire change.
  • Proficiency with project management software and processes
  • Familiarity with Content Management systems and HTML/CSS
  • Understanding of Google Analytics
  • Solid technical background with an ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle with an enthusiasm for technology and demonstrated technical aptitude
  • Experience in a customer facing role and a passion for working directly with customers to deliver the best possible outcomes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with multiple audiences, including executive stakeholders
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for in-person planning sessions (up to 10% of time)
