Job Description:
The SRE Tool Project Manager contributes to the strategic objectives of the Operation Division by managing the roadmap for internal tools while also contributing to internal process documentation. This role will also be responsible for the training delivery of roadmap items to the company. This is a Denver, CO based technical position focusing on support internal business tools of Network Operations Center (NOC).
Responsibilities:
- Write easy-to-read and easy-to-find use case-based documentation
- Design and write about technical concepts for tool development
- Create project plans, maintain schedules for specific projects, and communicate documentation status to documentation manager or lead
- Develop tutorials to improve SRE workflows
- Owns the delivery process for business processes and tool updates
- Contribute to documentation SRE team processes
- Edit documentation for completeness, style, and accuracy to ensure it reflects RingCentral's commitment to quality
- Plan and implement projects
- Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
- Define tasks and required resources
- Collect and manage project team
- Allocate release resources
- Create schedule and project timelines
- Track deliverables and deadlines
- Support and direct development team
- Lead quality assurance
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Present reports on progress as well as problems and solutions to stakeholders
- Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
- Evaluate and assess results of projects
Qualifications:
- 2 - 3 years of experience as a project manager
- BA/MA/BS/MS (engineering, humanities, social sciences)
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn technical information
- Ability to meet deadlines and help others meet theirs
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and develop schedules
- Help develop and fine-tune documentation processes
- Understand the company requirements and incorporate them into documentation
- Excellent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent
- Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
- Knowledge of techniques and project management tools
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
Desired Skills:
- Understand main ideas of ITIL and 24x7 IT production support
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Able to stay focused on priorities even as conflicting requests for work flow in
- Excellent editing skills
