The Software Project Manager will play an integral role in the long-term growth and maintenance of FWI’s award-winning software platform. This individual will use their drive, attention to detail, drive, work ethic, and intuition to ensure that priorities are managed correctly, multiple release schedules are aligned, and our Product and Software teams are coordinated throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.

 

The compensation package will be aligned to each candidate’s experience and qualifications. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

 

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with each FWI Product Manager to understand their portion of the platform, including use cases, long-term vision, needs (resourcing, release timing, budgeting, etc.), and most effective working style.
  • Take desires of FWI Product Managers and delivers detailed plans for completion of their initiatives, including producing timetables, working with Development and QA teams to assign additional tasks as necessary, and developing checkpoints for progress.
  • Manages resource allocation for various releases – including defining backup resources – and works with various Software and Product leaders on proactive planning when resources are booked to one or more overlapping initiatives.
  • Acts as the liaison between all teams involved in a software release, including Development, QA, and Product Management and provides status reports to all appropriate parties through the release cycle.
  • Assists Product Managers in controlling scope of a software release and adjusts time estimates, cost, resource allocation, etc. as changes occur.
  • Acts as a single point of contact for Development, QA, UX and Product leadership regarding status, open issues, etc. related to a software release.
  • Follows up with Product Management following a release to ensure quality, additional needs, etc.
  • Manages all project/process tooling for the department, including JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Other duties as collaboratively defined with his/her manager.

Qualifications

Requirements for Success:

  • Has excellent leadership skills that allows for taking control of how a project unfolds, directs others, delegates, boosts morale, solves problems, and keeps a project moving.
  • Has experience project managing product development teams.
  • Is highly organized and able to skillfully manage multiple, simultaneous releases across multiple teams.
  • Has keen attention to detail and doesn’t easily allow crucial details to slip through cracks.
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Has the ability to take broad direction and proactively define own tasks, goals, milestones, etc. to achieve that direction.

Helpful for Success:

  • Has prior experience in Atlassian software (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
