Presales Solution Engineer

As a Senior Presales Solution Engineer, you will work closely with Workiva Sales teams to align Workiva's innovative platform to the technology portfolio for our customers and partners. You will coordinate technical architecture, solutions, and integration throughout the entire deal lifecycle including discovery, solution development, presentation, and proposal. Using your technical and integration knowledge, you will play an important role in the Workiva sales process; driving large, complex deals in key accounts.
What you'll do:
Provide Technical Solution Engineering Leadership – Contribute to the ongoing development of our IT/EA playbook and demonstration environment working closely with both our product, delivery, and alliance teams, and lead the ongoing training to our broader community of solution engineers. Working closely with Product, Marketing and Services teams, you will assist in the development of other assets (e.g., architectures, workshop enablers, use cases, competitive comparisons, sales/partner training, whitepapers, webcasts, etc.) and evangelize our product.
Show your skills – Use your business and application acumen to conceptualize and configure demos that showcase Workiva's ability to address customer needs.
Support Sales - Partner with Regional Sales Directors to support the full life cycle of account and opportunity development. Collaborate with all Workiva groups (product managers, engineering, customer success, and other groups) ensuring the successful execution of the account strategy.
Design Solutions – Using a business process orientation, technical and application expertise you will design architecture, approaches, and business solutions to meet the customer's goals and objectives.
Present and Compel- Develop and deliver compelling presentations of Workiva's technology platform to customers to provide proof of our technology's impact and compelling value proposition.
Build Business Cases – Work as part of the sales team to build and present business cases and proposals for customers and prospects that articulate Workiva value and ROI within the customers' existing application portfolio.
Ensure Customer Success – Work with Workiva partners, Client Services and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth onboarding of customers and their long term success with our SaaS platform.
Drive Innovation – Keep up on Workiva and industry technology innovations as well as customer requirements to provide a feedback loop on customer and market needs to Workiva Product Management and Development groups.
What you'll need:
- Must be able/willing to travel to meet with customers and prospective customers (estimate 50-70%)
- Bachelor's degree required - Technology, MIS, Finance, or related fields strongly preferred
- Strong technical architecture skills and understanding of SaaS and/or Cloud-based solutions and ecosystems (ERP, analytical reporting and modeling, budgeting and planning, financial close, GL, FP&A, Management Reporting, Financial Accounting, and Reporting
- 10+ years of experience in Presales, consulting, implementation or project management with Fortune 500 companies.The ideal candidate will have experience selling software solutions into the office of Accounting and Finance
- Understanding of SaaS and/or Cloud-based solutions and ecosystems
- Experience building relationships and becoming viewed as a trusted advisor to customers in achieving their business goals
- Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations and software demonstrations
