Vertafore Professional Services Organization is looking for dynamic and passionate people to join our team! We are seeking a Project Manager II with expertise in managing client implementations. If you thrive at leading successful project implementations and have a passion for building strong client relationships, we want you to join our team! The Project Manager II will be responsible for the overall direction, planning, implementation, execution, monitoring and completion of multiple projects ensuring consistency with Vertafore's mission, strategy, values, commitments and goals.

The Project Manager II will develop, define and execute project plans and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget and of the appropriate quality standards for the project. The candidate will be engaged in the pre-sale process working with the sales team through project completion. 
The ideal qualifications of this candidate include previous experience/expertise in a) managing successful client-facing enterprise software implementations, b) business process consulting, c) client relationship management– especially in dealing with challenging clients & situations, d) using project management software to manage all aspects of a client engagement. 

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following: 

 

  • The Project Manager II will develop, define and execute project plans and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget and of the appropriate quality standards for the project. The candidate will be engaged in the pre-sale process working with the sales team through project completion. 
    The ideal qualifications of this candidate include previous experience/expertise in a) managing successful client-facing enterprise software implementations, b) business process consulting, c) client relationship management– especially in dealing with challenging clients & situations, d) using project management software to manage all aspects of a client engagement. 
    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    • You are experienced developing, defining, and executing project plans and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget, and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope. 
    • You excel at managing customer expectations to successfully deliver the project. 
    • You're excited about being the primary customer contact from project inception thru project completion 
    • You have demonstrated an ability to proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans. Can demonstrate the ability to recognize risk and develop a mitigation plan. 
    • You effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. 
    • You delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personal. 
    • You can manage multiple types of software implementations. 
    • You are empathetic and "read" people and situations well. You understand that helping customers meet their business goals is critical to success. You like to take care of people and help make their work easier. You are excellent at setting expectations and careful to deliver on your promises. 
    • You adjust to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fluid environment. 
    • You can mentor junior project managers with their projects. 
    • You have a proven track record of building client relationships in person and over the phone. 
    • You are experienced and can handle difficult and escalated situations with minimal leadership involvement. 
    • You will ensure a successful handoff to Customer Care team upon completion of implementation



Qualifications:

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a project management role preferred. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology (or related degree), or demonstrated relevant experience. 

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP certification) desired. 

  • Insurance industry knowledge is beneficial. 

  • Proven track record for getting results by building strong relationships and partnerships, both with outside clients and internal staff. 

  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint). 

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal, communication skills: demonstrated ability to present to groups, clients, and executives. 

  • Experience in overseeing software implementation projects. 

  • Experience overseeing data conversions or migrations, systems integration, or new systems implementations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date with technology changes or industry changes relative to product(s) supported. 

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and show patience within a variety of customer situations. 

  • Ability to travel to customer locations and work on-site. 

  • Experience in independent or on-site customer consulting. 

  • Experience responding to a variety of customer or client situations and personalities. 

  • Working within a team and leading teams. 

  • Working with remote project and customer teams. 

Additional Requirements and Details: 

  • Travel required up to 30% of the time. 

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.). 

  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.
