Position Details:

Responsible for ensuring programs are planned, managed and governed in a consistent, transparent and disciplined manner. Work collaboratively with multiple organizations and provides overall leadership and guidance of the programs for enterprise-wide corporate level initiatives or segments of larger initiatives. Leads initiative, implementation, operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of complex and cross-functional programs while managing the programs defined budget.

  • Develops and manages program operating costs budgets for program activities and monitor expenditures to ensure that they remain within budgetary limits. 
  • Incorporates industry best practices, conducts internal and external benchmarking, and establishes standards, key measures, and metrics.
  • Assisting teams in defining project team tasks, assumptions, deliverables, dependencies, risk management, issue resolution, and escalation when appropriate. 
  • Acts as the communications conduit to executive sponsors and program steering committee and conducts periodic briefing/status updates. Reports overall program status to the steering group at regular intervals and on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Analyzes, evaluates and plans strategies and methods of approach for complex technical and business problems developed through technical and business collaborators.
  • Recognizes the need for cross-boundary efforts and will initiate and develop when they don’t exist.  Integration and alignment with other processes and solutions.
  • Organizational change management, defines roles and responsibilities, communications, compliance, solutions adoption and training.
  • Manage the program risks and embed a risk management process into the program from the outset.
  • Be responsible for program quality and embed quality processes into the program from the outset.
  • Manage and resolve dependencies between the projects of the program.

Defining the Programs: Facilitate and lead collaborative definition to corporate initiatives/strategies into data/financial driven actionable programs for further review and approvals with senior management. Programs can range from fundamental business change to acquisition/divestitures.

Data and Financial Analysis: Incorporates industry best practices, conducts internal and external benchmarking, and establishes standards, key measures, and metrics.

Execute/Lead Approved Programs: Leads strategy, implementation, operational planning, establishment, execution, evolution and evaluation of multifaceted and cross-functional programs while managing the programs defined budget. Assisting teams in defining project team tasks, assumptions, deliverables, dependencies, risk management, issue resolution, and escalation when appropriate.

Typical Interactions/Relationships

Internal – High to moderate degree of autonomy.  This role will manage programs with high-impact issues that will be identified, understood, communicated, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates risk to the program and overall corporate strategies.  This position must influence through regularly interacting with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, organizations, and/or customers.  Program status and reporting along with any unfavorable results in budget, timeline, or solutions will be summarized and/or escalated to senior management by this position.   This position will review key issues and risk items with the Vice President of the organization to determine remediation strategies

External – Like the interactions and level of engagement internally, the external client could also be involved with the program delivery.  This role will partner with CBU’s, CDE’s and/or SSU’s to engage clients in defining execution strategies and manage issues/risks associated with the overall Program.  Billable activities will require CBU, Product Mgmt, and Legal resources/processes to be managed regarding business proposals and SOW/Contract Amendments to complete the work.  This role will interact with various client resource levels, including SVP.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience is required. 
  • Six Sigma certification desired.
  • Program Mgmt Professional (PMP) certification desired.

 

Experience

(Minimum level of related experience typically required to successfully perform the job and preferred experience that is also beneficial to have in this job.)

 

  • 8-10 years Project/Program Management within the IT sector. 
  • Experience in working on world-wide initiatives is preferred. 
  • Expertise in Program Management for Enterprise Level Programs.
  • Proficient with tools to measure and perform metrics development, reporting, and analysis.

     

    Preferred 

  • Knowledge/experience of software engineering and IT operations processes
  • Knowledge/experience of cloud service providers (AWS, Azure)

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong planning/organization & time management skills.
  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills.

 

  • Ability to use a personal computer.  Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment.
