The Ops & Logistics Program Management (PM) role serves as a primary point of contact for internal teams to plan, develop, and deploy new global kit services strategy, products, designs, platforms and processes to support global kit distribution and sample returns with focus on developing and optimizing kit efficiencies.

The PM is expected to apply leadership, project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to ensure successful and profitable delivery of services defined in the kit services support model as well as work to expand those services in a strategic relationship within all supported Invitae business units.   

The PM will be working alongside the rest of the Global Service, Operations & Logistics teams (as well as other internal peer teams) to execute and manage the associated scope of work, interact with all operational business units to ensure alignment and execution of successful kit service delivery, and be the SME & primary point of contact to drive proactive engagement in the Kit Services Program. The PM will provide effective and proactive communication and process enhancements to guide and support both internal and external customer stakeholders while leading developmental and improvement initiatives ensuring kit service delivery in meeting or exceeding team metrics, driving global expansion strategies and representing the voice of the Operations team within the Invitae business environment through continuous improvement initiatives. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with all Invitae partner teams to develop and drive scalable kit product management and ownership strategy for full service and support kit service offering.
  • Directly responsible for all global kit NPI and kit change management leadership, process improvements and controls including all work instructions, SOP’s and change control recognition and execution.
  • Create accelerated program transition timelines and knowledge base and open projects transfer processes.
  • Build support organization for immediate kit and kit media operations
  • Work with group leaders to create and publish kit service enhancements, roadmap, product and kit changes.
  • Must have high knowledge base and subject matter expertise in all import/export kit requirements for the business.
  • Build kit service product playbook ensuring that every kit type can be tracked and managed efficiently.
  • Closely monitor all internal and external industry trends and architecting strategy for transforming current kit and related product designs supporting growth for the next 5 years.
  • Coordinate with OP’s & Logistics, Regulatory, Commercial, Laboratory and C/S organizations solutions for domestic and international kit challenges reported by our customers.
  • Be a visionary able to support initiatives such as:
    • In-country kit manufacture and distribution in EMEA, APAC & LATAM
    • Automation of kits for robotic samples extraction in accessioning operations
    • RFID kit tracking and accessioning sort support from receiving to accessioning reducing sort times
    • In-house kit builds viability and strategy planning with Op's & Logistics leader and business stakeholders
    • Green kit strategies improving recognition and control of waste opportunities around the world
    • QR code use expansion for clinic/patient sample collection
    • Languages other than English requirements for kits distributed around the world
  • Work closely with Supply Chain management team members and kit manufacturing partners to create and maintain best kit products inclusive of all current business, new acquisitions and future acquisitions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Global Services, Operations and Logistics Leader as required.
  • Experience and working knowledge of comprehensive Medical Device Distribution logistics, operations and lab processes a huge plus.
