Professional Services Specialist
Respondent is a two-sided marketplace that connects market and usability researchers with the highest quality research participants in the world. Our platform gives researchers a single place to quickly find the right participants for their projects, as well as schedule and pay them instantly. It simplifies the work that’s necessary to conducting quality research. Companies like IBM, Airbnb, Uber, Microsoft, Procter & Gamble and many more trust and integrate us into their research processes.
We are a small, quickly growing, fully remote tech startup. Working as a distributed team allows us to hire the best talent regardless of location (right now, everyone works in a continental US Time Zone). All of our employees have areas of expertise as well as a wide breadth of knowledge in their domains. This blog post shares more insight into how we work successfully as a distributed team.
About this role
We are looking for a Professional Services Specialist to join our Project Management team. Project Management is the white-glove human component to our otherwise largely DIY recruitment platform. Clients work with the Project Management teams on a project-by-project basis for an additional fee and expect the highest quality customer experience available.
Given the capabilities of the Respondent platform, we expect this team to grow significantly in the nearterm. Revenue generated from Project Management fees has more than tripled in the past quarter at Respondent, and we expect to remain on the same trajectory throughout 2020.
Your responsibilities
Once a client expresses an interest in working with the Project Management team, you’ll work with that client to learn more about their needs (research scope, target audience, deadline, methodology, budget, etc.) and assess pricing accordingly.
After the green light on the project is given, you will own and execute on the project. This includes but is not limited to: programming recruitment screeners, managing participant segments and quotas, providing updates to the client on the recruit, confirming our recruits over the phone and working with the study filling team at Respondent to ensure the project is a success.
In order to grow the Project Management arm of the business you’ll leverage client relationships and communication skills to generate more projects and drive revenue.
You will use data to inform decisions and solve problems using an analytical approach to help scale the operational foundation of Project Management team at Respondent.
Who are you?
You are known for your organizational and planning skills. You are very detailed-oriented.
You have strong written and verbal communication -- you’ll be required to simplify complex issues into digestible, concise and easy to understand writing. You have experience in customer-facing positions that directly drive revenue. You don’t hesitate to jump on the phone with a client when needed.
You possess a growth mindset and are able to accurately identify issues, design solutions, and execute on them independently as well as by collaborating with team members.
You are comfortable working from home in a fast-paced, results-oriented distributed team and are self-motivated to exceed your job requirements. You seek out new tasks from team members when your own are complete.
You love seeing your work have a huge impact on the business.
You are a quick learner, proactive with your own training and not afraid to ask any question for the first time.
You have experience navigating Google Sheets and Excel, and can adopt using tools like Asana, Slack, and video conferencing tools with ease.
We are looking for someone who matches our level of joy for the work we do, brings something new to the team, and elevates our game. Our values are: Always Researching, Ownership, Active Honesty, and Thriving Together. Read more about them here.
