SonderMind is VC-backed digital health company changing the game in behavioral health by increasing access and utilization of this important part of our well-being. We are creating a national, digitally integrated network of behavioral health providers that lets them focus on providing great care, while enabling better access for consumers looking for outstanding, effective behavioral health options. SonderMind combines a variety of software offerings, integrated network of providers and services to generate the data and capability needed to serve consumers, employers and health systems looking to access high-quality behavioral health care.
We are hiring a Manager, Strategy and Special Projects to help achieve our significant growth objectives. This is a ground-floor opportunity to grow with a VC-backed company with plans to become a national force for changing this important segment of healthcare. We are comprised of experienced healthcare, technology and product professionals who work very hard and thrive in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing. As an early team member, we will expect you to become an expert in your sphere, exhibit extreme ownership of your objectives and demonstrate a willingness to take risks. We value healthy debate, but ascribe to a “disagree, but commit” attitude once we make a decision. One of the most important things is that no SonderMind team members are ever another cog in the wheel – we expect everyone to be a major contributor to the company’s success.
The ideal candidate should be experienced in process development, with a special emphasis on execution and measurement. The Manager, Strategy and Special Projects will initially report to the CEO and will dive into a variety of strategic projects, process creation/improvement initiatives and other operational company tasks. This valuable team member must achieve, at a minimum, the following outcomes:
- Within the first three weeks, understand the key roles and areas of focus within the company, document process inefficiencies and/or improvement suggestions, align these findings with SonderMind’s company objectives, and deliver a report and presentation to the executive team with key observations
- Create and implement a company-wide framework for creating and/or improving key operational processes, using the following as initial focus areas:
- Therapist credentialing with commercial insurance
- Client feedback and support
- Maintenance of insurance provider directories
- Within eight weeks, accept responsibility/ownership of specific company operational tasks, to be defined within the first two weeks
- Within 12 weeks, lead up to three concurrent exploratory, pilot or other ill-defined company initiatives, ranging from research projects to prescriber partnership development to process improvement programs
Gotta Have This
- Minimum of three years of work experience in a professional environment
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated success in process development and implementation, process improvement, and key metric development
- Very advanced written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience working across functional areas to solve operational challenges
- Extremely strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, ideally graduating with honors
Nice to Have This
- Candidates with prior consulting experience, particularly with a focus on implementation, will be prioritized
- Experience in other high-pressure work environments, such as investment banking, management consulting and experience in fast-growing startups
- Understand and experience within healthcare, particularly healthcare services, insurance and/or healthcare technology
Benefits
- Experience and Career Growth. You will be part of the core team as the company enters a major growth phase. We always look to promote first from within and everyone on the team is taking on multiple roles. We don’t know how to say “that isn’t my job.”
- Startup Environment. From our location directly across from Union Station, to an office with a Stormtrooper greeting people entering the office, to brick walls covered by whiteboards, things are changing and improving EVERY SINGLE DAY.
- Health, Vision, Dental and 401k. Excellent employee benefits.
- Therapy Benefits. Of course, we encourage our team to engage in proactively maintaining strong behavioral health and offer all employees access to SonderMind therapists.
- Stock Option Grant. We want all of our team to be focused on long-term success and growth.
- Mandatory Vacations. We’ve read the research and it is clear – employees who take vacation are more productive, happier and compensated more. SonderMind has an unlimited vacation policy, but REQUIRES employees to take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year
- Competitive Start-Up Salary. We all need to eat, right?
SonderMind Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
