Shinesty is in the market for a Logistics Manager to come in and whip our logistical affairs into shape and take it to the next level. The ideal logistical guru will perform quite a few duties which align with managing an effective and timely flow of product shipments. On top of that, this role is responsible for managing related communications between all of our global supplier base, our award winning (in our hearts) distribution center, our customers as it relates to logistics. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Responsible for the transportation and routing logistics for all of the company’s internationally & domestically sourced products, ensuring all orders are shipped on time and with correct routing
    • Follow-up on all shipment discrepancies with suppliers & related internal functional areas
    • Communicate shipping issues and discrepancies to related internal & external groups
  • Responsible for the US Customs clearance and assurance of Customs compliance of documentation and record maintenance.
    • Remains up to date on customs changes and issues.
    • Responsible for verification of product material content descriptions, import valuation, country of origin determination, HTS determination, document retention, monitoring and auditing U.S. Customs broker, auditing entry documents, and developing import/export procedures and manuals
  • Support in the management of all 3rd party common carriers, LTL, TL, air and ocean freight negotiations.
    • Obtains lowest cost consistent with service required.
    • Assures company service requirement are met.
  • Track courier & transportation expenses, costs, and fees; direct and indirect
  • Reviews and approves all invoices for customs brokerage, freight, small parcel, LTL & air freight.
  • Manages insurance claims as needed for damaged & missing goods.
  • Explore (ongoing) methodologies, systems, and cost-savings initiatives; lead research & recommend changes and improvements to reduce expense and increase profitability
  • Liaison with factories, carriers, and HQ office
  • Other projects outlined by leadership

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in international logistics management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Knowledge of international shipping practices, US customs brokers, tariffs and classifications; and transportation costs.
  • Related systems and software/program proficiencies desirable
