Position Title

IT Project Manager

KG Lewis is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to partner with our client to successfully manage and deliver IT projects. The PM plays a vital role in creating long-term healthy customer relationships. The key responsibility of the KG Lewis PM is to help create solutions to meet our client’s business needs across all areas of service offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes complex project plans and revises them as appropriate for project needs. Manages multiple projects or releases within the Accela Program simultaneously.
  • Communicates important project related milestones, achievements and risks.
  • Defines and manages project of moderate to large scope.
  • Facilitates the gathering of project requirements and coordinates all project activities and tasks.
  • Integrates subject matter expert input to develop project plans.
  • Manages scope, schedule and cost within plan.
  • Develops and proposes project estimates and work to meet project deadlines and milestones.
  • Maintains and reports on project budget.
  • Ensures proper coordination of resources per plan and notifies of needed resource assignments.
  • Effectively utilizes each team member to accomplish project objectives.
  • Facilitates the identification of risks and quality measurements and resolves and/or escalates project-related issues in a timely fashion.
  • Tracks status and metrics on the project delivery and value; escalates to functional management upon identification of deviations (or potential deviations) from plan.
  • Effectively manages communications, expectations, and interactions with all departments and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable to create and deliver presentations for various audiences and communicate to all levels from end users to management.
  • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations on project status and selected project topics.
  • Builds effective team relationships to synergistically accomplish goals.
  • Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
  • Facilitates project governance and maintains project-management documentation.
  • Participates as a member of a project team.
  • Partners with various managers to successfully implement projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or a related field from an accredited college/university. Master's degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through Project Management Institute required.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) desired.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License - this position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) during contract.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience accountable for the delivery of multiple technical projects concurrently or that are dependent on each other, with a minimum of 5 years' experience leading technology projects that involved multiple large-scale technology components both on-premise and off-premise.
  • Experience with executing programs and associated projects relating to the support of operations for local governmental Departments (Police, Fire, Water, Parks, IT, Library, Finance, Public Works, HR) is preferable.
  • Accela implementation experience preferred.
  • Electronic Document Review (EDR) system implementation experience preferred.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of project management fundamentals, process design, project estimation, budgeting, and ability to do project risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Must be conversant with current project management methodologies, as well as the Systems Development Life Cycle (SLDC) for waterfall, Agile and hybrid approaches.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale system implementation projects involving multiple projects and/or phases.
  • Must have relevant and recent enterprise system replacement projects and be conversant in current system implementation methodologies including SaaS, IaaS and cloud platform solution delivery projects.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels within the IT Department, and Business Units.
  • Demonstrate effective partnerships with vendors/partners to effectively deliver projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience developing complex, project plans to meet business objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience leading large, complex projects, or multiple medium-sized projects that span multiple systems and business areas and are dependent on each other.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve project issues effectively.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage tools, dashboards and metrics to support regular communication and executive reporting on project state, to include identification of resource issues, milestone status and budget tracking.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to motivate individuals to deliver projects in a matrixed environment.
