Job Description
This position will support all aspects of program management to include cost, schedule and risk management as well as working with the Honeybee internal organizations and suppliers to deliver quality hardware, on time. Responsible for technical as well as non-technical management of multiple aerospace projects. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all activities of a program to satisfy contractual requirements and meet financial commitments to the company, while ensuring good employee and customer relations.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans - responsible for overall program leadership, including appropriate planning, direction, guidance, and budget
- Manage technical and project level risks, stay on top of scope changes and contractual modifications and identify and communicate corrective actions
- Review and continuously evaluate the program status and work on unplanned program issues to the best solution, including the development of plans-forward, escalation, and increased resources, as required
- Compile and present project status, schedule, and budgetary statistics to customers or company management, as required
- Lead smaller projects independently and larger projects together with Systems engineers for teams consisting of Design, Electrical, Software, and Manufacturing Engineers, as well as Technicians
- Lead team meetings, assign and record action items in project management tools and assure follow through
- Ensure that program requirements, purposes, objectives, and expectations are communicated and flowed down to the internal team and suppliers
- Lead program change proposal efforts, including pre-coordination with the customer to establish expectations
- Organize and lead customer milestone reviews such as PDRs and CDRs and assign action items as required
- Resolve conflicts, demands, and priorities on assigned programs
Required Experience, Skills and Education
- B.S. in an aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering-related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of related experience in program management with relevant experience in complex aerospace or high technology/highly regulated products
- Proven ability to build relationships with customers and other external stakeholders
- NASA, DOD or commercial spaceflight or aerospace or high technology/highly regulated industry project experience with working experience in all phases of a typical project life-cycle phases is required; this experience is preferably gained through technical or programmatic leadership roles while working at one of these agencies, a prime contractor or lower tier supplier
- Familiarity with government contractor cost accounting requirements and industry-standard project/program accounting practices and methods such as creating Work Breakdown Structures cost estimates to complete tasks and projects (ETC/EACs)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and ability to travel in support of the program, customer and employee activities
- PMP certification is preferred but not required
Compensation and Benefits
- All final pay rates will be determined by the candidates specific education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
- Pay Range: $114,000 - $137,000 per year
