Yuan, the #1 ranked CEO on Glassdoor, our unique culture makes Zoom an awesome place to work. We are expanding teams across the organization. If you are motivated to deliver happiness, come join us at Zoom!

The CIO Office is made up of the Global CIO and an internationally distributed network of CIO Advisors (former CIOs and CTOs) that support the go-to-market and sales success for upmarket segments and transformative changes for Zoom. We create value through deep technical and business expertise combined with analytical rigor and effective communications to help design and deliver winning strategies and define essential program requirements for the business. The CIO Office empowers Zoom to land the present, and launch the future.

As the Global CIO Office Program Manager, you will be a strategist, consultant, and implementer, working cross-functionally to streamline activities based on priorities established by the Global CIO and the CIO Advisors. While this is a non-technical program manager role, you will be a business person who has the wherewithal as a technologist to help define and influence outcomes across the business. Zoom is a dynamic company, and priorities change quickly. Paying close attention to daily needs, you will lead the activities and operations of the Global CIO Office, helping the Global CIO and the CIO Advisors grow, change, and run the business. This position reports directly to the Zoom Global CIO.

Responsibilities:

  • Communications: Serve as a first-line ambassador for the Global CIO Office, both internally and externally. Write and communicate in a way that compels action. Tell data-driven stories that inspire. Develop executive-level messaging. Create and contribute to content for CIO events, including presentations and runs of show. Ideate and draft high-level strategic and business documentation, including executive briefings, proposals, and program plans.

  • Relationships: Partner with groups from across the business essential to the success of the Global CIO Office, including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Business Services, IT, Finance, and Legal. Develop cross-functional knowledge and continuously survey the landscape for issues, trends, and perspectives that may influence the business. Lead, encourage, enable, and empower others, especially when there is uncertainty.

  • Alignment: Think “big picture”, including processes, systems, and organizational design. Identify problems affecting the Global CIO Office and the business as a whole. Assemble the best teams to analyze and solve any given problem. Ensure cross-functional alignment surrounding the root cause of and solution to any given problem by listening and asking specific, strategic questions. Live by Murphy’s law — “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” Promote a “measure twice and cut once” mindset.

  • Analytics: Drive data-driven strategic planning and decision-making for the Global CIO Office and the business as a whole. Find the dots and connect them. Implement best practice tools and techniques for strategic planning. Substantiate decisions with data. Define and report on KPIs. Create reports and dashboards in Salesforce. Partner with the Data Science team in Business Services to create reports and dashboards in Domo and Periscope. Stay cognizant that the data works for you, and not the other way around.

  • Strategy: Serve as a trusted knowledge advisor to the Global CIO & CIO Advisors, providing the information necessary to design and deliver winning strategies, define program requirements, and set priorities. Serve as a strategist, consultant, and implementer, streamlining business activities based on the priorities of the CIO Office. Develop a deep understanding of the complex, competitive market for unified communications and collaboration software and applications, while keeping on the pulse of broader global business, technology, and political trends.

Requirements:

  • “Big picture” and systems thinker who gets how all of the pieces of an organization can work together optimally to create maximum value.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Able to quickly ideate and draft high-level documentation.

  • Fundamental design skills. Able to create a polished presentation and get around Photoshop without issue. Experience managing content, design, and video projects.

  • Just enough technical acumen. A business person first and a technologist second who can have meaningful conversations with Product, Engineering, Business Services, and IT, helping define and influence outcomes across the business.

  • Knows multi-tasking is a fallacy. Aligns daily activities to the priorities of the Global CIO. Willing to change course quickly, as needed.

  • Humble with a natural curiosity. Always learning more.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • 8+ years of professional experience successfully managing a portfolio of complex, large-scale, global business programs and projects. Experience working directly with c-level executives required. Experience working in a technology, software, and/or SaaS company a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA and/or master’s degree in either a technical discipline (computer science, information systems, technology management, integrated digital media, or similar) or non-technical discipline (international affairs, political science, economics, area studies, modern languages, English, or similar) preferred.

  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time.
