Job Requirements

As a Program Manager of Business Operations, you will be a trusted business partner for the leadership of key products within a growth product portfolio, helping bring structure and rigor to the disciplines of planning and business performance management, and serving as “the glue that holds things together”. 

What you will do:

Staff Operations for VP of Engineering:

  • Install a predictable rhythm of well-planned staff meetings and internal communications forums which align to calendars at the corporate and BU levels.
  • Partner with the administrative assistant to provide “chief of staff” style support for the VP’s priorities, overseeing his personal calendar to ensure the most effective use of time as well as readiness for all meetings and presentations.
  • Be a liaison between engineering, with product management, marketing, and all other support functions
  • Serve as the primary interface to business support functions, including finance, human resources, reporting support teams & internal communications

Team Level “Scrum Master” & Program Manager:

  • Provide neutral, strategic organizational insights in order to partner with the VP to identify and clear impediments which prevent effective plan execution of the business plan.  Help teams to define escalations, support their rapid closure and call for decision making.
  • Take the lead to drive improvements to core business processes and implementation of best practices which ensure teams are positioned to execute with pace and role clarity.
  • Take the lead to define and own execution for cross-functional programs or strategic initiatives, particularly where ownership isn’t clear

Planning Process & Execution Reporting:

  • Drive the strategic and operational planning process, ensuring alignment of engineering and product management to meet business unit deliverables.  Build workback schedules for all deadlines related to strategic plans, financial plans, and operational execution plans, and drive the process cross-functionally.
  • Identify and define critical path initiatives, manage goal setting, cascading and follow through.
  • Build weekly, monthly and quarterly reports with go “out and up”
  • Coordinate operational business performance reporting, including plan of record setting and inspection of ongoing reporting accuracy and rigor.
  • Install a discipline to plans of record, focus, corrective action planning, and follow-through  
  • Source data, build and manage dashboards and trackers to ensure leadership transparency to critical path initiatives, key indicators of business results, and operational health
  • Conduct investigations and analysis in order to drive generation of actionable insights from data

Education

Education & Experience:

  • 10-15 years of related experience
  • Undergraduate degree in business or computer science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in storage and data management software industry preferred
  • Agile software development and SAFe certifications preferred

Skills You Have:

  • Excellent planning and program management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, especially executive summary writing
  • Very strong PowerPoint, Excel and Office365 skills
  • Experience building financial models and managing large budgets
  • Excellent facilitation and change management skills

  • A logical, pragmatic approach to solving complex organizational challenges
  • An ability to dive deep into the detail, and yet also elevate to drive perspective from a strategic level
