What You Will Do

The Education Director is responsible for creating, implementing and continuously improving the accelerator program for the Boomtown’s Boulder operation. This position is ultimately responsible for the successful execution of the program through actively mentoring startup teams, managing the mentor community, and managing the day to day operations of the internal team. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement a curriculum for Boulder office startup programs 
  • Continuously improve curriculum and programming via feedback from participants, mentors and the community
  • Find and engage expert members of the Boulder community to teach and mentor in the program and maintain relationships with current program mentors
  • Mentor, coach, and support startup teams
  • Manage day to day operations
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership to the Boulder Boomtown Accelerator staff
  • Participate in networking events to develop and maintain relationships within the community
  • Reporting to the Managing Director

 

Who You Are

  • 8+ years in a startup/multiple startups and deep understanding of how startups operate and grow
  • 4+ years leading, mentoring, and coaching in a startup/small business environment
  • Passionate about culture, leadership and the dynamics of groups
  • Experience with Design Thinking, Systems Thinking and Lean Startup approaches
  • Experience using experiments and adaptive learning to build better product and business outcomes
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable leading and facilitating large groups of people
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to change, and quickly problem solve
  • Experience leading Agile/Scrum and/or lean methodologies preferred
  • Ability to provide candid feedback and accept constructive criticism
  • Knowledge of the Boulder startup environment preferred
  • B.S. in Business, MBA nice to have
