What You Will Do

We are seeking a Program Manager to establish, scale, and oversee our SaaS-focused R&D and Technology Portfolio Management Office (PMO). This highly visible and hands-on leadership role will drive strategic alignment, governance, and delivery excellence across all technology initiatives from new product development to software execution and market delivery. You will serve as a bridge between engineering, product, and executive teams to ensure our programs are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable business impact.

How You Will Spend Your Days

PMO Leadership & Governance

  • Build and lead the PMO function within the SaaS R&D and Technology organization.
  • Develop and institutionalize scalable project management frameworks (Agile, Kanban, Phase Gate-Lite) tailored to SaaS product delivery.
  • Establish common practices, tools, and templates for portfolio and project management; ensure adherence to company and legal standards.
  • Facilitate weekly PMO syncs, monthly executive reviews, and quarterly board updates to maintain transparency and alignment.
  • Drive accountability and ownership across cross-functional teams, mentoring TPMs and project leads to deliver excellence.

Portfolio & Program Management

  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of technology initiatives spanning software development, R&D, and M&A integrations.
  • Prioritize and allocate resources across active and proposed projects using strategic value assessments, NPV modeling, and risk factor analysis.
  • Manage day-to-day portfolio activities, including defining project phases, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators, portfolio health, and budget burndown to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Identify critical paths, mitigate blockers, and escalate issues that threaten project or portfolio success.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Partner with engineering, product, finance, and executive leadership to align programs with company strategy and GTM priorities.
  • Deliver sound investment advice and strategies based on portfolio performance and market opportunity.
  • Analyze vendors, development methodologies, and delivery models to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Lead the oversight of vendor relationships, software execution, and post-acquisition integration programs.

Communication & Reporting

  • Translate technical details and documentation into clear, compelling executive roadmaps and visual dashboards.
  • Use data visualization and metrics to communicate portfolio performance and support decision-making at all levels.
  • Develop high-quality executive presentations and board materials summarizing status, risk, and ROI

What you bring to the role

  • 8-10+ years of experience in program or portfolio management, preferably in SaaS, R&D, or product-driven technology environments.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams and complex product portfolios in high-growth or PE-backed companies.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, with mastery in Microsoft PowerPoint and Smartsheet.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC, Agile, Kanban) and GTM execution.
  • Financial literacy to manage budgets, forecast PMO needs, and assess ROI using NPV and strategic models.
  • Ability to execute in high-demand, resource-constrained environments while building structure and efficiency.
  • High emotional intelligence and adept at reading a room, pivoting priorities, and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred; engineering or consulting background a plus.

Compensation for this position includes an annual base salary of $150,000 to $180,000, with eligibility to participate in our Employee Participation Unit program.
