Company Description

PlayerLync is one of the most innovative enterprise mobile solutions on the market. We’re a growing, dynamic, team-oriented software company committed to providing best-in-class products and services to our customers. Our enterprise software solution integrates mobile content distribution and management with e-learning, digital forms and daily operational performance tracking all in one universal solution. PlayerLync’s software is used by high-profile companies to move massive amounts of files on and off devices efficiently, limiting impact on network bandwidth while mobilizing millions of employees every day. In just a few years, our customer base has rapidly grown across multiple industries including professional sports franchises, top restaurant concepts, field services organizations, hospitality organizations and global retail companies.

Description

As the intersection of business, end user design, and technology, you will be engaged with all areas of the business as we continue to develop, document, and package our existing and future products and services. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will orchestrate the creation of products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with teammates, customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, the self-discipline to prioritize competing efforts, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and diligently validate that our solutions meet our target market’s needs.

You must be able to collaborate with all areas of the company without formal authority. You will work with the development team to define product release requirements, with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy and helping to establish the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer, and with operations to ensure consistent delivery of expected value. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working regularly with the sales channel and key customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an early stage, VC backed environment. They will have the confidence and ability to represent a “new” company (i.e. little to no “name recognition”). This candidate will possess both value based solution creation (linking target prospect need with PlayerLync value) as well as technical aptitude (networking, wireless, servers, and mobile devices).

Responsibilities

Complete a quantitative and qualitative cost / benefit analysis that will help the group understand our options and prioritize our efforts. Financial management requirements include budget planning, resource allocation and preparation of monthly / quarterly reports.

  • Product Realization & Acceptance Testing (30%) – Create and communicate mock ups / wire frames, including functional details and confirm with key stakeholders that such a product meets their needs. Ensure that epic and user stories are well defined and monitor development progress in order to align other areas of the business. Work with each group to create functional product documentation that will ensure that expectations that are set by sales and marketing can be met with operations. Confirm completed products meet desired needs before launch.

  • New Product Launch (20%) - Prepare new product plans for product introductions in cooperation with senior management, marketing, sales, operations, key customers and prospects, and strategic partners.

  • Organizational Communication (10%) - Provide the planning and leadership to the Marketing Department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goals of the Marketing plan. Establish a system of reports and communications for all information from the marketing team as well as for feedback and requests throughout the company.

My experience at PlayerLync has helped me learn about databases, API’s, workflow, and much more. I have gained knowledge in areas I didn’t expect, such as programming and automated testing. How do you empower your team to be more creative?

By giving folks the freedom to try new things or new ways. There is rarely one right way, and it's only through trying new things that people or teams reach greatness.

On my first day, our CEO left me a note with “More life!” written at the bottom. I've seen this in the work/life balance this company pushes its employees to have. I work hard and play hard at PlayerLync and am ultimately more successful and fulfilled because of the balance!
