The Contractor - Product Specialist ensures high levels of customer and internal user satisfaction of assigned products by fostering a sustainable model for continuous improvement, expanded utilization and adoption of their products. Working under the leadership of Product Management leader for the Electronic Invoice Presentment & Payment (EIPP) portfolio, the Product Specialist delivers assigned projects supporting adjacent team optimization and improving customer Return on Investment.

 This role aligns stakeholders to established priorities leveraging GHX’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Go-to-Market (GTM) and Operational processes (i.e. KCS Articles, Implementation Collateral, etc.). The Product Specialist works cross-functionally within GHX and with 3rd party service providers to drive improved outcomes and adoption for customers providing value to customer individual contributors and their executive leadership. Initiatives are prioritized based on their ability to deliver measurable improvements to customer satisfaction and result in happy referenceable accounts.

Self-motivation, strong work ethic, a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude, management of multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to lead through influence. The Product Specialist is highly analytical with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This role is responsible for leading planning and coordination activities as well as developing and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with internal & external stakeholders. The candidate will have experience and comfort building and delivering optimization plans with customer and adjacent teams as well as validating success through Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) quantification and tracking.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates and implements plans to drive improved outcomes for GHX products including discovery of customer needs, objectives, goals, KPI’s, business drivers and organizational structure
  • Acquires deep product subject matter expertise to addresses customer and stakeholder needs for technical and data analysis, set up and configuration, and client specific requirements
  • Partners with customers directly and through cross-functional team members to document and reach tactical, technical, and strategic objectives with regular milestone checkpoints
  • Partners with numerous internal and external partners (i.e. Product Managers, Technical Product Managers, Customer Success Managers, Support, 3rd party service providers, etc.) to understand functions and processes that contrite to delivering customer value and incorporating VOC and learnings to drive continuous improvement of assigned solutions
  • Acts as a liaison between the delivery teams by communicating product and process change vision
  • Works with Product Management to determine ongoing priorities and business value for functionality and process improvements
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for support escalations and organizational education
  • Serves as an internal representation for voice of customer feedback gathered through direct customer engagement and partnering with cross-functional teams. Represents the VOC to the product team and assists with prioritization relative to what is most important to our internal and external customers
  • Identifies risks, issues, and problems and escalates as appropriate, proposing mitigation plans to overcome obstacles
  • Supports business case development to assess the relative benefits of product/process enhancements with an eye toward clear, realistic and attainable KPIs to measure success
  • Tracks and reports on product utilization via KPIs to ensure achievement of customer satisfaction objectives
  • Coordinates alignment across teams for successful introduction of products and/or process change
  • Monitors product performance and proactively identifies opportunities for improvements

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree or a combination of education and related work experience
  • 4+ years in a complex technology organization with demonstrated success creating and driving utilization strategies with solid hands on experience with digital products
  • Proven ability to understand client needs, identify opportunities, suggest timely solutions and increase customer value
  • Proven ability to identify risk, create and execute mitigation plans to eliminate risks
  • Ability to manage large and varying workload effectively without support to overcome obstacles and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to drive the correct outcome for the customer in the desired time frames
  • Ability to produce summary detail readouts for leadership consumption
  • Ability to work well with others and resolve any conflicts
  • Sound project management, Agile and Six Sigma experience highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Skilled in leading meetings, setting agendas, driving decisions and negotiating
