About Caliper Foods

One in seven Americans currently use CBD—and now they have an ideal way to consume it. Traditional ingestible CBD products (typically oils, tinctures and processed edibles), patent-pending Caliper CBD is the first product to provide a consistently precise dose of CBD in a flavorless powder that quickly dissolves in any food or beverage. Fast acting, well absorbed and convenient, it’s ideal for health-conscious adults looking for a daily source of wellness they can trust.

Caliper Foods (caliperfoods.life) was founded in 2015 on the belief that cannabinoids, especially non-psychoactive compounds like CBD, are a major new category in functional ingredients. We encompass two distinct business lines: (1) Caliper Commercial Ingredients, which provides soluble CBD ingredients at scale to food, beverage, supplement, and other CPG manufacturers; and (2) Caliper Consumer, which sells its own line of CBD-infused products nationwide.

We are a fast-growing company with a deep belief in developing talent internally. Caliper Foods pays 100% of our full-time employees’ health care premiums and we offer an extremely flexible PTO plan.

What you’ll do:

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to work directly with our CEO and ultimately own our tech strategy and solutions end-to-end, thinking through our overall workflow to prioritize how we approach problems. You will develop back end website applications including implementation, testing and management and integrate numerous external APIs with our internal tools that help employees find the information they need to make good decisions, and automate routine tasks to increase productivity and reduce avoidable errors.

We’re looking for someone who prefers simple and proven to shiny and new, who believes the best tool is the one you use. Based on your relationships with teammates from all functional areas at Caliper Foods, you’ll identify automatable workflows, useful integrations, instrumentation gaps, and data bottlenecks and then build the tools needed to reduce friction, increase productivity and make your teammates jobs easier. Ultimately, you will uphold our high physical engineering standards in our digital environments. We value consistency and stability above all else, and we need someone who can push those characteristics to our codebase.

Our tech stack:

Google G Suite, Google Apps Script, Airtable, Mongo DB, Copper, DEAR Inventory, METRC, WinCC, WordPress, WooCommerce.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build software to help employees find the information they need to make good decisions, and automate routine tasks to increase productivity and reduce avoidable errors.
  • Own problems end-to-end, thinking through our overall workflow to prioritize how we approach problems to the pixel-level details of our solutions.
  • Uphold our high physical engineering standards in our digital environments. We value consistency and stability above all else, and we need someone who can push those characteristics to our codebase.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their requirements and pain points and develop tools to make them more effective.
  • Understand, create, manipulate and query databases.
  • Ensure responsiveness of web applications.
  • Develop back end website applications including implementation, testing and management of advertiser pixels.
  • Integrate various external APIs with our internal tools.

What we’ll love about you:

  • You love all the diversity technology affords and working across numerous applications and functional areas suits your abilities as a diverse SW Engineer.
  •  You have 4+ years of diverse development experience (Java, Python, JavaScript frameworks and API integrations). G Suite development work is a big plus.
  • Think in terms of systems and simplicity.
  • A technical BS/BA degree
  • Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.
  • Believe that perfect is the enemy of good, and act accordingly.
  • You build relationships easily, enjoy working cross-functionally and understand the important relationship between a company’s product, overall success and technology.
  • Having experience working at a startup is a big plus.

What you’ll love about us:

  • A fast-growing company with a deep belief in the value of developing talent internally from within
  • A group of sane, mostly rational executives who try their best to be decent human beings
  • An environment where fire drills are the exception, not the norm
  • Very flexible PTO
  • Competitive salaries for all roles. For salaried employees, we also cover 100% of your healthcare premium
