The Technical Product Manager is a key member of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team – helping create reliable systems that help transform the citizen experience. The Technical Product Manager is responsible for gathering business requirements from cross-functional stakeholders, then guiding the vision of what needs to be built and conveying that vision to their agile team and business partners. 

You are enthusiastic about automating everything. You can express a vision for the team and stakeholders. You have a strong grasp of the concept of Infrastructure as Code and can convert this vision for the team to deliver and track against.

We are looking for an experienced individual to help us refine and drive our product strategy focusing on SRE tools and services including monitoring, alerting, capacity management, resiliency testing and deployment; with the ultimate goal of empowering all teams across the organization to increase efficiency, ship faster and learn more.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and drive the vision for the product with the cross-functional team
  • Own and organize the backlog, ranked according to customer needs and business value
  • Assess tradeoffs for comparative value, clarify requirements and work to drive user stories to acceptance throughout the agile development lifecycle
  • Participate in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings and providing feedback to the team
  • Ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined and verify that story implementation matches requirements
  • Maintain constant communication with the team. Communicate the product strategic and tactical direction to all stakeholders
  • Ensure detailed documentation of feature behavior and requirements
  • Provide mentorship and support to more junior members in the department
  • Collaborate and work closely with internal partners. From software engineering, UX/UI, and analytics, you will be fostering relationships with coworkers across the company to support their efforts while delivering products
  • Regularly and systematically use key performance indicators (KPIs) and other data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decision making
  • Experience shipping multiple products across a variety of platforms and channels
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert, contributing practitioner, and mentor to team members

Who You Are:

  • You bring 5+ years of experience working with technical teams, or equivalent industry certifications/experience in product development/management/operations
  • You have least 3+ years of professional coding experience
  • You are familiar with DevOps and SRE concepts
  • You have the ability to influence without authority and champion change when needed
  • You have the ability to identify highest value product capabilities/features based on vision, business goals, technology, schedules and budgets
  • You can demonstrate experience with and passion for agile development. Certified Scrum Product Owner certification highly desirable
  • You have a proven ability to flex between the technical and business sides of your brain – engineers and cross-functional team members alike love to work with you
  • You are able to work with multiple cross-functional teams to build and evaluate business cases to support product investment decisions
  • You have a relentless commitment to doing the most valuable work first
  • You have excellent verbal and written communications skills; presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills
  • You demonstrate strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and as a member of cross-functional teams
  • You are able to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas
  • You have a track record of functioning well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing demands
  • You bring detective-like problem-solving skills – you thoroughly investigate the situation and then use that data to correctly assess the value
  • You have a passion for customers and good user experience
  • You demonstrate an excellent understanding of Granicus's products and services
  • Bachelor's degree – IT, Computer Science, Business or related field preferred
