The Technical Product Manager, Server, is a key player in accelerating the development of the long-standing Server product, working with the development team to define technical strategy to meet product strategy and future business goals. You will need to have a strong understanding of development practices to best ensure the team is producing great customer value while introducing little risk.

As the TPM for Alteryx Server, a collaboration and automation tool for enterprise level analytics, you will need to have a strong understanding of the life cycle of analytics within organization so you can be the voice of customers at any stage in their analytics adoption. You will help refine ideas based on feedback and understanding of technical limitations.

We are looking for someone with enough technical background to make sense of potential environmental constraints of enterprise customers and help take those into consideration during feature design and implementation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Story acceptance
  • Defect management and prioritization
  • Feature breakdown and technical assessment
  • Feature adjustments based on technical feedback
  • Feature adjustments based on MVP/MLP standards
  • UX adjustment/customer voice during development cycle
  • Acceptance on multiple authentication methods and install types when needed
  • Feature documentation acceptance
  • Resolve blocks in organizational process
  • Support next generation development by sharing understanding of impactful development (ex., time zone support)
  • Assess release viability and adjust commitment

 

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of Product Management or equivalent experience in the enterprise software industry.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching exciting software products.
  • Domain expertise in Alteryx Designer is a big plus.
  • Domain expertise in firewalls, proxies, permissions, database management, network administration, and data governance a big plus.
  • Familiar with client-server software
  • Detail oriented with critical thinking skills - ability to break down initiative-level requirements into feature and story attribute level details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills; problem solving skills; strategic thinking and business acumen with ability to build strong working relationships across organizational teams in a fast paced and changing environment.
