Our company is seeking a strong leader to deliver the right solutions. This Product Manager leader needs to motivate, coach, inspect, and support disparate teams from many BUs and functions. The right candidate is an A+ communicator who can manage across key stakeholders including C-level management, Product Managers, Sales Leaders, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Services, Support, and beyond. This dynamic person brings teams together to deliver the right solutions, ones centered on delivering clear value to the customers, from across our business units, rapidly and efficiently. This is an ideal role for an experienced strategy/consulting leader looking for more offering management experience or for a Product Management leader looking to get broader multi-offering, portfolio-level experience. This role provides high visibility while requiring extreme ownership and collaboration with the specific solution owners and their value-streams.

 

What you will be doing:

You have the exciting opportunity to use your leadership to coach product teams in their creation of solution business cases and support the delivery of those solutions to market including the pricing, packaging, enablement, selling, supporting, servicing, and securing of references. You are leading a small direct team that collaborates in the development of solutions that span product lines and business units across CA and develops repeatable processes to ensure all teams are progressing and innovating collaboratively. This is an opportunity to expose your market leadership talent at an elevated level, while working across all business units and functions at CA.

 

Qualifications:

The main things we are searching for are talent, collaboration skills and passion. However, experience in certain areas will help you hit the ground running, so here’s our attempt at narrowing things down:

Product and/or strategy leadership in a problem or solution space; direct work experience in an Enterprise software space that has dependencies on other teams; technical domain expertise around API’s, integrations between multiple products; and data driven analysis experience.

 

Ideal candidates will have experience in the following:

Work Experience

  • A solid history of at least 10 years in strategic or product/solution leadership as the subject matter expert in B2B Enterprise software
  • 5 or more years people management experience.

  • A keen sense of building a strong business case, factoring in all downstream functions, and delivering the right solutions
  • Multi-team leadership across teams, and at all levels of the organization

  • DevOps experience is a huge plus. Strong knowledge of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in related field. An MBA is preferred.

 

Job-Specific Authority and Scope

  • Generally, works without consulting their manager.
  • Independent decisions are made daily.
  • Typically has 2-5 direct reports.
  • Typically has a global geographic focus.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certified Level Three (PMC-III) or equivalent desirable

 

Additional Responsibilities

 

Leading the Organization

  • Will perform some of the responsibilities of a Product or Offering Manager.
  • Will support the New Product (offering) Development process to:
    • Develop business cases for new multi-offering solutions
    • Determine and validate solution value propositions
    • Determine financial objectives
    • Determine go-to-market strategies
    • Determine pricing/packaging
    • Provide marketing support
    • Enable and support sales
    • Secure reference customers
    • Mitigate or escalate risks to the plan
  • Form and lead change initiatives in support of CA’s portfolio strategy
  • Support continuous improvement of Solution Management capability.
    • Stay abreast of and share industry/technology trends relevant to the Solution Management discipline.
    • Collaborate in the identification, implementation and adoption of new tools, practices and procedures that drive Solution Management efficiency across the organization.
  • Ensure organization stays focused on evolving customer/market needs leveraging voice of the customer feedback from various sources.
  • Collaborate and routinely share information and best practices across all functions to ensure organizational effectiveness.
    • May participate in and contribute to forums that enable cross-functional knowledge sharing.
  • Handle escalations that cannot be resolved independently by direct reports, and may similarly escalate to more senior management as appropriate.
    • Contribute to the identification of common impediments to organizational effectiveness.
    • Communicate with cross-functional groups in support of collaborative responses to escalations or impediments to organizational effectiveness.
  • Balance available resources to support the objectives of a department or sub-function.
    • Develop budgets for SVP approval and manage budget once approved.
  • Represent CA in industry groups and events to create internal and external awareness of solutions.
  • Represent company in relations with major customers and both channel and alliance partners.
  • Meet regularly with employees one-on-one for Pulse Conversations and coaching.
  • Foster a growth mind-set in all employees:
    • Support employees in setting and attaining professional and development goals.
    • Coach and mentor employees on career and personal development, team collaboration and Agile practices.
    • Support continuous learning.
  • Develop organizational capacity through staffing, budget/compensation planning, skills development, and acquisition of required tools and technologies.
    • Help to attract, recruit, retain, and develop top Product Management talent.

    • Proactively identify impediments to team success including the skills, knowledge or resources required to meet defined objectives.
