Space Vehicle Product Line Manager

What You'll Do:
- Support the development of a strategic plan for the Mission and Space Vehicle directorate.
- Define product lines based on heritage program and internal research and development commonality.
- Implement a data-driven approach to managing improvements to modules that make up standard product lines to improve capability, open interfaces, and manage parts obsolescence.
- Coordinate with Mission and Space Vehicle Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test to solidify the link between product line definitions and current execution challenges.
- Coordinate with Space Vehicle Architects to utilize and enforce the use of product lines as a point of departure for tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with strategic business unit (SBU) partners to ensure alignment of strategic goals related to product lines. The SBUs provide the demand signal to engineering based on mission needs, and the engineering Strategic Support Unit responds with technical solutions.
- Support engineering and programmatic trades to ensure non-recurring engineering decisions are made deliberately based on requirements gaps between customer requirements and standard offerings.
- Provide demands to strategic operations regarding relevant mission and space vehicle markets to inform strategies and product line maturation.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Strategic Planning experience.
- Space mission and/or hardware experience.
- Product Line Management experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, accountability, professionalism, and interpersonal skill.
- Strong critical thinking skills that result in effective decision making and priority setting.
- Drive for results and executional excellence.
- Team building skills with a player/coach mindset.
- Attention to detail that leads to complete, high-quality engineering products.
Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $108,500 - $149,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
