Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Product Owner will be working directly with our Sling TV scrum development teams in our downtown Denver Office. They will be working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment using Scrum/Agile methodologies. They will assist in creating the product vision and roadmap for the Sling acquisition cart, and will lead the execution of this vision by working within a scrum development team. This role allows for creative problem solving, teamwork towards a common goal, and will require a bias towards action.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborates with Scrum Master for Sprint Planning
• Delivers maximum value for the capacity of their team
• Splits time between working closely with the development team, and stakeholders
• Primary interface with the business to bi-directionally communicate priorities
• Sets team priorities to deliver value as quickly as possible
• Responsible for creating business value in the product
• Works with stakeholders on long-term vision and product planning
• Manages team backlog including planning, and prioritizing for sprints and releases
• Oversees the whole feature/initiative
• Works with team to refine and size stories
• Provides direct support to the team as a Servant leader to get questions answered to help the team perform
• Lead and influence a cross functional team to ensure the team delivers products that meet business requirements/needs and delivers business and operational value to customers
• Responsible for accepting user stories and features
• Manage stakeholder needs & requests while balancing product roadmap priorities

Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful Product Owner will have the following (varies by posted level):

• Servant leader mentality
• Experience as a Product Owner, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Project Manager or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent organizational, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills
• Self-motivation with strong, proven, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional resources and work well in a distributed environment
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience using Agile processes and methodologies
• Ability to plan for future work while maintaining the current delivery with rapidly changing priorities
• BA/BS in a technical or business discipline
• Rally / CA Agile Central experience a plus
• Technical proficiency a plus

Recommended Certifications (nice to have):

• Agile Certified Product Manager Product Owner (ACPMPO)
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
