About the Org
JumpCloud’s mission is to disrupt a two decade old monopoly - Active Directory - with new technology we call Directory-as-a-Service®. We give companies the ability to remotely manage and control all of their organization’s identities, devices, & resources on one comprehensive cloud-based platform. We’re looking for the world’s best talent to help build the future of modern identity and device management from the ground up.
About the Team
Our product team is empowered to identify what the future looks like, and plan a path to get there using data, research, and empathy. We believe and operate in a “Product-led Growth” (PLG) model. We guide exceptional multi-disciplinary teams toward our collective vision while empowering them to do great work. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to lead key aspects of our strategy, drive them forward, and grow alongside the company as we change the future.
What you will be doing:
  • Establish, drive, and evolve the strategic direction for key aspects of your product area, including vision, roadmap, and go-to-market activities.
  • Leverage insights from customers, market research, a/b testing, and data analytics to inform product decisions, from the strategic to the tactical.
  • Lead the scoping and creation of features and products while communicating and driving what your customers need through an agile process.
  • Work hand in hand with engineering every day to define, deliver, and ship solutions to customers that align to our strategy
  • Work with customers, fellow product managers, user experience designers, architects, engineering teams, QA, marketing, sales, customer success, and senior leadership to formulate and execute the best path forward.
  • Enable high-quality, timely, iterative execution in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

What you should have:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager directing the strategy and execution of customer-facing products.
  • Product management experience building and maintaining large-scale software systems.
  • Swift, high-quality decision making, informed by data, but not paralyzed when faced with a lack of it.
  • Track record of driving impact in a cross-functional, highly collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills across all mediums (visual, written, verbal) that inspire teams and bolster your decisions with focus and clarity.
  • An ego-free embrace of vigorous debate and conviction that it’s better to be aligned than right.
  • Ability to influence people to get things done across any job function. People love working with you.
  • A strategic perspective to say no to good ideas so we can focus on the few, truly great ones.
  • Knowledge and deep appreciation of user research, current states of design, user experience, and the product manager role in modern SaaS companies.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related industry experience.
  • Experience with IT-related technologies such as directory services, LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, MFA, MDM, or similarly complex technologies is a plus.

An Insider's view of JumpCloud

What’s the vibe like in the office?

A key trait for us is having an open, positive mind. We believe that taking the road less travelled - or at least exercising that path - will create new, different, and interesting ideas. We ask our teams to always consider the outside-of-the-box solution to a problem and encourage them to try those creative ideas.

VP of People

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

I work with multiple teams across the organization to highlight and recruit for openings at JumpCloud. We like to have a diverse group of people in our interview process. Hiring at pace is a huge goal for JumpCloud so it's essential for us to build connections with all of our stakeholders.

Manager, Talent Acquisition

What makes someone successful on your team?

My team members feel empowered to create, design and execute with a lot of freedom at JumpCloud. This enables them to take an active role in their career development and the development of other team members at JumpCloud.

Manager, Learning and Development

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

I'm available pretty much anytime via email, Slack, phone, in person. More than the communication vehicles and time, I really like to dig in on projects with our teams. By working on important issues together as just another voice or hand to help, I think that helps the team feel that I'm accessible to them and there to help.

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

One of the core roles in our engineering group is called pathfinder. They are constantly looking at different areas of our product and future plans and coming up with innovative new ways to achieve these. These engineers lead sessions with cross-functional teams on how to leverage their innovations for competitive advantage in the marketplace.
