Checkr is looking to hire a Senior Product Manager for our Background Check team. This will be a unique opportunity to work in Checkr’s industry-defining product that will fundamentally change the hiring process for on-demand and contingent workforce. Our ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus combined with a successful track record of delivering data-driven products, managing the product life cycle and collaborating with a cross-functional team of product managers, data analysts, product designers, and marketing managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Build deep understanding and empathy for external and internal users of Checkr
  • Use data and insight to drive new product capabilities.
  • Drive the product roadmap and strategy for a broad product surface area
  • Ability to champion the goals and vision of the product, inspire team members to do great work and remove roadblocks to make progress
  • Be an expert at prioritization: balance your product’s long-term roadmap with its backlog of enhancements, issues, and bugs. 
  • Deliver crisp product requirements to engineering. Remove obstacles from the path to delivery
  • Collaborate with engineering and product design and product marketing to ship new, impactful features
  • Lead meetings with sales, product marketing, customer success, business development, customers and technology partners to deeply understand, document, analyze and synthesize customer needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications.
  • Drive cross-functional decisions & alignment. Effectively communicate across all departments in the company

What you bring:

  • B.S in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics/Math or related fields
  • MBA or Masters degree in a quantitative field
  • 5+ years experience in product management
  • 2+ years of experience working with data scientists, machine learning engineers, or products infused with data science and AI
  • Deep understanding of running Data Science and/or Machine Learning experiments
  • Enjoys working with data (cleaning, structuring, analyzing) and a strong understanding of SQL
  • You have an instinct for user experience and an understanding of usability best practices
  • Experience interacting with, advising and influencing senior-level leaders, accomplished with presentations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and proven ability to successfully manage up, down, and across the organization, comfortable with people at all levels
  • Relentless curiosity and an urge to innovate, measure and improve
  • A proven track record for full lifecycle product management developing products from concept to doorstep for large scale initiatives.
  • Experience with Scrum or other agile development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, polished interpersonal skills
