What you will do 

We are looking for an experienced, eager, and entrepreneurial Product Owner to help our initial  product offering and evolve our product development practices. As our PO, your primary role will be to provide a definition of the work to be done through stories, supplemental documentation, and conversations and then to ensure the quality of work delivered to production. In this highly visible position, you will also have the opportunity to develop into a Product Manager role with greater responsibilities in setting product vision, roadmap, and priorities, becoming the product evangelist to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Product Management to define the product roadmap.

  • Work closely with the User Research and Experience team and engage with external customers to ensure the product serves our users in a way that solves their problems.

  • Track product and feature performance against defined Outcomes as well as define new Outcomes for emerging capabilities.

  • Gather feature requests (from both internal and external customers) and coordinate priorities.

  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria for prioritized work including defining requirements for initial deployment and ongoing enhancements.

  • Organize and prioritize the backlog of work balancing new features, feature enhancements, and bugs.

  • Evaluate potential integrations with 3rd Party APIs to enable capabilities within the platform.

  • Work closely with the Engineering team to follow the progress of work and address production issues.

  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and accept all stories

  • Schedule releases and communicate release notes to development team and company.

  • Lead Agile ceremonies including standups, grooming, and retrospectives to create a cadence that maximizes productivity, collaboration, and ownership.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and refine our Agile methodologies.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role 

  • 3+ years as Product Owner or Technical Product Manager working with Agile teams.

  • Experience working with web and mobile products, particularly for B2C and platform/marketplace products.

  • Implemented data tracking and analysis tools for digital products.

  • Technical background including previous work as a developer or a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Product Owner Certification preferred.  

  • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product lifecycle.

  • Strong knowledge of agile, scrum, kanban, and CI/CD practices, including industry standards and best practices.

  • Proven ability to clearly define a set of requirements that solve customer problems and identify technical and business changes required to address them.

  • Knowledge of software development and web technologies including development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and progressive web apps), technical integrations (APIs, SDKs, etc.), and A/B testing and release management tools.

  • Understanding of User Experience and Design Thinking a plus.
