A Product Owner on the CBS Train is all about delivering value to the ordering and reporting domains. As a member of an agile development scrum team you are responsible for understanding stakeholders’ requests by ascertaining what problem they are trying to solve and what value they expect to achieve when the work is delivered. During the quarter you will collaborate with the Chief Product Owner (CPO) and reach out to stakeholders to determine anticipated future work while making sure the scrum team has a prioritized and groomed backlog. In addition you validate and accept work the team completes during the iteration based on the acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Use the Agile Software Development Life Cycle to facilitate requirements gathering around new ordering functionality while taking ownership of the solution we will build to make our customers happy.
  • Work directly with other product owners, scrum masters, system engineers, program managers, developers, testers, and customers to define features and technical user stories.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Scrum teams to define, track and integrate components and services that interact to create domain and enterprise solutions.
  • Develop feature-level design documents and review these documents to demonstrate the ability to frame all requirements fulfilled by this feature,  as well as capture all external dependencies needed to realize the value of the work delivered.
  • Work directly with the Chief Product Owner (CPO) and Release Train Engineer to size, prioritize and plan the implementation for features and user stories.
  • Ensure quality by helping to deliver and providing traceability for design documentation, feature descriptions, user stories, test cases, and operational training material.
  • Demo the team’s products to stakeholders and customers.
  • Conduct Feature Design Reviews and User Acceptance Testing with the development teams and stakeholders to ensure understanding, design and signoff of the feature work.
  • Participate in Quarterly Planning at the enterprise level to understand cross train commitments, dependencies and risks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Computer \Information Systems, or similar study.
  • Three years related engineering or operations experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and/or SAFe development principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of geospatial technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of information systems architecture.
  • Proficiency with requirements management processes and tools (specifically CA Agile Central/ Rally).
  • US citizenship required; currently hold or able to obtain US Government clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full knowledge of modern development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) is a plus.
  • Service Oriented Architecture and CI/CD Pipeline knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.
  • Web services experience helpful.
