Role

The Product Owner will lead the execution and delivery of GigSmart’s software releases with well-defined, customized Agile processes. Our Product Owner will work with a cross-functional team to design and develop new features that will be used by millions of users. The Product Owner will lead the transition of business requirements to technical requirements using Agile methodologies. Our Product Owner will define software release plans and scope with the Director of Product and CPO. This person understands and coordinates feature backlog for all releases of the platform — and their dependencies on each other. 

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Execute product management processes, practices, and tools that are efficient, flexible, consistent and allow for multiple paths of delivery
  • Work directly with design team to define new features and manage scope of projects
  • Lead and participate in Scrum activities
  • Collaborate and support quality assurance team through hands on testing and release coordination
  • Define software release plans and scopes with the Director of Product and CPO
  • Manage the feature backlog for sprint and release planning from development start through QA
  • Define sprint goals and manage tracking with the development team
  • Create bi-weekly sprint reports for broader audiences
  • Execute software gate reviews
  • Uncover and facilitate resolution of risks and obstacles for the development team
  • Handle conversion of functional documents into user stories
  • Participate in bug triage meetings and define priority level or resolution
  • Use your own judgement to recommend improvements and drive alignment across the organization
  • Lead and influence others on best practices

Skills and Competencies

  • 3 years of Agile Software Development experience
  • Prior product experience; supported multiple software releases
  • Experience working with cross-team functionality including development, design, product, business development and QA

  • Lead backlog grooming sessions and drive solutions to completion
  • Clearly defined acceptance criteria per feature
  • Promote continuous improvement
  • Efficient delivery of features (Quality, Low cost)
  • Sprint planning and execution

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business, Economics, Engineering, or Math preferred)

Salary: $75K-$100K (dependent on experience)
