Job Description

Your primary responsibility as Product Manager for SugarWOD will be to lead the creation & execution of the SugarWOD Roadmap that will set our products apart from the competition by truly understanding our customer’s needs and delivering valuable solutions to market problems.

In this position, you will fulfill the Product Owner role on our Agile Product Team. While you can expect weekly mentoring through 1:1s with your direct manager, you will generally be expected to work independently in this role. You will have responsibility for 1-2 products/product components across multiple customer segments, typically contributing less than $10M in total annual revenue. You will mostly manage on-going products but may also lead the launch of smaller new products.

Product Owners are a crucial position on our Agile Product Teams and play a key role in the success of Daxko products.

In this role, you will:

  • Work within the Product Management team, and directly with customers, to understand market needs.
  • Convey market needs to the Product Team in the form of user stories.
  • Prioritize the backlog based on business value and serving as the point person for Software Developers and User Experience Designers on the Product Team.
  • Participate in standard Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
  • Lead acceptance testing of new features to ensure they meet the agreed upon acceptance criteria and satisfy market needs and contribute to the definition of success criteria, ensure measurement of the necessary metrics, monitor and report out on progress towards these success criteria.

Qualifications

About You

  • Detail oriented, manages time and objectives effectively
  • Excellent communicator in person, on the phone, in email, and with social
  • Loves testing out new approaches, knows how to measure the impact and adjust
  • Not afraid of conflict – able to check your ego at the door for the benefit of the product and team
  • Flexible - change and uncertainty don’t phase you

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant product management, product owner, or business analysis experience in an agile software environment
  • 1+ years relevant experience with Agile development methodologies and the Product Owner role
  • Ability to use wireframing tools to prototype new functionality
  • Basic knowledge of web & native mobile software
  • Able to comfortably and effectively present to large groups of stakeholders
  • While experience in the fitness industry is strongly preferred, must either have prior fitness industry experience or history of learning new domains quickly

Preferred Skills:

  • Four-year degree strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Lean Startup methods and tools
  • Scrum Product Owner certification a plus
  • Experience working with remote teams a plus
  • Fitness-enthusiast and participant in the Fitness Industry a plus
