OMDC brings together unrivalled expertise in oil markets, refined products, and chemicals to provide information and insight products that critically inform the strategic investment and operational decisions made by both industry and the financial sector. Our offerings include crucial price benchmarks, comprehensive asset databases, short and long-term market forecasts, analysis of industry dynamics and company strategies, and tools to enable comparison and benchmarking of operational efficiency and production.

The position reports to the head of product management for OMDC and will also collaborate with an experienced product management team to contribute to larger, cross-cutting OMDC and ENR strategic goals and initiatives.

Key elements of the role:

  • Translate market knowledge and client interactions into identified user personas and definitions of product positioning and value propositions for different user segments

  • Serve as a key, continuing conduit for voice-of-the-market/client base input into existing and new product development decisions

  • Develop clear and compelling roadmaps for existing product groups - considering commercial performance, evolving client needs, and competitive product offerings

  • Identify and define new product concepts, and evaluate their commercial potential, examining client value, strategic fit, pricing potential, and competitive environment

  • Examine client usage data and other engagement metrics, and work with Research and Customer Care to develop strategies for increasing client value-realization and retention rates

  • Support Marketing in the development of marketing material and campaigns, including work with Research to drive broad marketplace awareness via dissemination of thought leadership

  • Assist Sales in their development of new business account plans by providing guidance on whitespace companies and user personas for specific product offerings

  • Manage implementation/maintenance of joint venture/partnership relationships with 3rd parties

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with applied software, B2B data/information, and/or industry analysis, products – software experience is particularly valued for this role

  • Past success in both developing and launching new offerings and in finding new avenues for growth for mature products

  • Oil & gas, chemical, or related industry knowledge – and/or demonstrated ability to quickly develop such domain understanding to be effective in a product management role – Chemical/Chemical Engineering education/experience is highly desirable

  • Experience in and enthusiasm for engaging with clients to understand customer industry workflows, identify unmet needs, and develop creative solutions to address them
