Job Description

Summary 

Come join our team of experts and help us create a world safe from cyber attacks! VMware’s Security Business Unit (SBU) leverages big data and analytics to drive highly effective security products. We are looking for an experienced product management professional with specialization in the endpoint/workload security industry that will help move this vision forward. 

As a Product Manager in the SBU you will own strategy and execution on the core security value proposition of our endpoint and workload load products. Working closely with both our Threat Analysis Unit and core engineering teams to ensure that our products maintain market leadership in an ever-evolving threat landscape.  

Responsibilities 

  • Work with VMware Carbon Black’s Threat Analysis Unit (TAU) on emerging threats ensuring that our products maintain the right visibility and capability to enforce strong detection and prevention.  

  • Define and drive product strategy, identifying key outcomes and success metrics related to security efficacy 

  • Work with customers to understand their top security concerns and ensure that our roadmap reflects these needs.  

  • Work with developers and designers ensure that we are providing our customers with actionable security insights reducing the time it takes our customers to respond to an attack on their organization. 

 

Required Skills 

  • Above all else the cyber security landscape requires a constant curiosity and continuous learning mindset  

  • Experience in a product management, product owner, or related role in the security industry 

  • Outcome driven with the ability to define concrete metrics to measure the success of product initiatives 

  • Experience working in an agile environment on cloud native products with a continuous release cycle 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt your communication style for the audience 

  • Ability to lead people and teams to deliver outcomes without direct management responsibilities 
      

Desired Skills 

  • Prior technical education in computer science with specialization in cyber security 

  • Prior experience administering endpoint security products as member of a Security Operations Center (SOC) 

  • Prior experience performing threat research on malicious file content or behaviors through either static or dynamic analysis 

  • Prior experience with operating system internals on the Windows, Mac, or Linux platforms 

  • Prior experience integrating and disseminating security intelligence information 

  • General knowledge of the benefits and challenges of applying data science principles to large volumes of security relevant data
