Product Line Director - Colocation / Critical Infrastructure

Position Description
Zayo is seeking a Product Line Director that will be responsible for driving strategy and execution while bringing thought leadership to modernize product life-cycle management. Responsible for oversight of research, design, development and overall product innovation, evolution and feature functionality.
As a key contributor to the Product & Technology team, Product Line Manager will partner with multiple core groups on activities related to development of the product roadmap, innovation, profitability, growth, positioning, and differentiation. This highly visible role reports to a VP in the Product & Technology Org and will function within our overall product management group.

Responsibilities
Ownership of business analysis and recommendations resulting from such analysis.
Ownership of business cases for product enhancements/developments.
Ownership of product definitions, positioning and value proposition development, pricing and guidelines, competitive analysis.
Responsibility for project managing product initiatives across stakeholder organizations.
Responsibility for product segmentation, targeting, and positioning.
Proactive and regular interaction with key customers to ensure products meet the needs of the market.
Project management of various initiatives with the common objective of improving financial performance and operational efficiency. Project scopes will vary considerably but may include data cleanup efforts, process/system enhancements, and product training.
Serves as the primary product expert and evangelist within the region in support of sales, solution architects, partners, customers.
Serves as the voice of the regions (leadership, sales, solution architects, customers, partners, market) back into the global product organization
Responsible for product vision and roadmap updates in the region aligned with global core product management
Market sensing - Participate in regional customer advisory boards and other forums, provide actionable insight as needed to drive positive change in the performance of our products in region.
Accountable for end-to-end product launch activity
Contributes to the development of global product positioning and messaging that establishes the need for the product line in the market and differentiate them against the competition and substitutes
Monitor evolution of customer segment needs, market and industry developments to help with strategic product planning
Effectively maintain and utilize relationships with key stakeholders throughout the company and ensures alignment in cross-functional priorities
Manage and influence a diverse cross-functional set of internal and external customers, stakeholders and executive sponsors
Collaborate closely with technology teams to provide clear direction on product backlog, epic and user story requirements, and feature delivery.
Prioritize backlog including features, bugs, enabler work, and tech debt; working regularly with the scrum team to refine and add detail where needed
Identifies improvements to existing processes; develops a strong understanding of processes and technology
Identifies and proactively includes correct stakeholders and communications effectively; Is able to manage stakeholder expectations within and/or across functions
Product Leadership
Responsible for execution of go to market strategy and product lifecycle management including innovation & evolution.
Develop and maintain relationships with the wider Product & Technology teams to influence and optimize experiences for customer segments/verticals and product categories.
Manage and influence cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities while balancing the strategic direction, setting go to market timelines, and effectively managing expectations.
Bring strategic mindset in evaluating and prioritizing competing requirements including new offerings, features, bugs tech and data debt as well as general efficiency improvements.
Working regularly with the scrum leads to refine and add detail where needed.
Work with core product managers, business functional teams and engineering team to define deliverables for any given release within the product development lifecycle.
Work with Reporting/Analytics teams to define meaningful metrics for gaining insights into user behavior, trends, insights and business impacts.
Work closely with Engineering and UI/UX partners to effectively execute on deliverables.
Lead the product management function including planning, initiative development, and deployment.
Perform key analysis of product performance and related upstream and downstream elements including sales and engineering to provide key insights into ROI and influence future investments and strategies.
Develop and measure objectives and KPIs
Work cross-functionally with marketing and finance to develop offers and sales plays.
Communicate with and develop relations with industry analysts
Act as a subject matter expert, support key sales opportunities recommending solutions that satisfy the business need and support the product roadmap development
Function strategically and tactically to ensure that organizational objectives are met, and priorities are aligned to desired outcomes.
Work across the entire product line life cycle, from strategic planning, day to day product development activities, new product introductions, and end-of-life activities
Team Leadership
Lead a team of product managers tasked with delivering world-class products and services.
Motivate the Team towards a unified vision and provide strategic direction towards a best in class user experience vision.
Be accountable for the performance and results of direct reports, teams, and area of responsibility.
Define succession plan and people development strategy.
Effectively manage performance management of team members.
Guide and coach team members to drive a culture of inclusion & excellence.
Proactively drive talent development, including conversations on career progression and individual development/growth plans.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science business, or MBA
7-10 years of experience in a Product leadership role building products and managing pricing and licensing, in the $100's of millions
At least 5 years of experience leading product management teams
Established and tracked performance of market-level pricing strategies, with the goal of identifying and exploiting revenue opportunities in a highly competitive environment
Experience in product management of a Telecommunications company, SaaS and or cloud-based software products
Experience developing a personalized user experience based on user’s behavior expectations
Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and bring out the best in the team.
Product management team leadership and personnel management a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be able to embrace a “growth mindset” in a fast-paced and agile environment
Experienced in Agile/Lean development methodology with experience as product owner, including experience with Tools associated with Agile Development including Jira, Aha!, or similar
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field
5+ years of hands-on product management experience throughout the entire product life cycle including inbound and outbound functions – ideation, evaluation, prioritization, development, go-to-market, launch, and growth
3+ years of prior experience as a Product Manager for a Colocation, SaaS and/or Services Product

Base salary range: $110,400-$175,000
Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) - Full-time Zayo employees are also eligible for discretionary AIP which is based on the performance of the Company, an employee’s business segment, and the individual employee
