Position Description
This position leads product for Zayo’s various Layer 2 Product teams. The successful candidate will be intellectually agile, have the ability to complete detailed financial analysis, develop cutting edge/new products and lead high level customer facing strategic discussions. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, independent, experienced product director to help drive the evolution of Zayo. The product director is responsible for delivering top and bottom line results for the business unit. Responsibilities
Create the short, medium, and long term plans for measurable commercial success of the Zayo infrastructure and network business
Collaborate with Zayo senior leadership to provide a product roadmap that demonstrates the growth of Zayo solutions
Subject matter expert for product infrastructure
Develop and drive activity to deliver on growth targets for products
Identify new markets for Zayo lit networks and opportunities for product expansion. Develop the products required to realize these opportunities
Represent the company in customer meetings and with new prospects, including at the executive level.
Create and manage a product manager team under which innovation is possible, high performance is enabled and individual objectives are attained
Qualifications
Product Director / Manager: 6-8 years of product management experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry with 3+ years managing a team
Education: Undergraduate degree with either an engineering or business focus. MBA a plus.
Effective Communication: Ability to prepare and present complex material in simple, concise communications to a wide range of audiences
Financial Analysis: Well-developed financial skills including business case development and financial analysis
Product Development: ability to develop and launch new network based products
Application Proficiency: Proficiency in the Google suite of tools with emphasis on Sheets and Slides is required. Knowledge of Salesforce.com platform is a plus
Travel estimate of 25%
Demonstrated history of solving complex problems
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of product managers
Independent, self-starter with ability to effectively prioritize competing deliverables
Ability to view issues and concerns from multiple perspectives, and to keep the big picture in focus
Ability to be flexible in work schedule and to meet strict deadlines under minimal supervision
