Job Description

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
  • Acts as a consultant to Product and cross-functional partners to address business issues with data and analysis.
  • Creates interactive dashboards and visualizations used by Product executives.
  • Uses cutting-edge tools to streamline existing processes to eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required; WebFOCUS/Tableau/SQL experience and R/Python experience helpful.
  • Developing professional expertise; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Acts as an individual contributor that can work effectively with peers/team.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or prior related work experience in finance or product/business intelligence/business analytics
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science or Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience is preferred.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Evidence of modelling techniques in previous employment and/or research experience.

• Knowledge of financial services industry

• Knowledge of banking practices, regulations, and operations within assigned line(s) of business

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors

• Understanding of finance

• Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills

• Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take

• Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts

• Ability to work as part of a team or alone making a strong contribution in either scenario

• Proven software engineering experience, especially in the field of financial software

• Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills

• Superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

• Delivery-oriented team player who takes responsibility for the team’s success and strives to continually learn and improve

• Ability to interface with all levels of employees and effectively interact with various functional areas and facilities

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, and clients

FIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION
Developing professional individual contributor role. Works on moderately complex assignments, exercising judgment within defined procedures. Participates in project planning sessions, working closely with seasoned quantitative analysts and other team members to analyze requirements, and provide design recommendations for complex financial systems. Consults with senior peers with goal of continually building knowledge/experience while minimizing any risk. This role shows a demonstrable interest in technological innovation with a focus on learning to apply standards, developing an understanding of the business, and advancing personal professional growth. Typically requires demonstrated financial engineering skills, strong mathematical skills normally evidenced by bachelor’s degree in a mathematical or related subject and two years of experience in financial risk software analytics.
