The Group Product Manager is responsible for leading a team of product managers and also contributing as an individual contributor. The GPM has a demonstrated track record of product success and is able to grow and manage a team of high performing Product Managers. They are responsible for mentoring and developing their team and owning several areas of related systems of the tech stack. This person is responsible for driving the overall vision and roadmaps of their area of expertise. They are highly technical, have strong analytical skills and the ability to build scalable cutting edge products that will help Pie achieve its goal of being the future of commercial insurance.
You will work across the entire organization to ensure your products and features are supporting your end users needs. You must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of Pie-oneers from frontline customer success, sales, and underwriting through the Executive level and external stakeholders.
How You'll Do It
Overall Team Performance
- Ensure team is on track and working towards the right product solutions/build
- Directly Managing PM(s)
- Mentoring and building a team of top talent product managers
- Teach the team how to measure what matters
Roadmapping
- Make sure Roadmapping for the next quarter and current quarter is well maintained and groomed
- Collaborating with Engineers on LOE (level of effort) and tech decisions
Product Management/ Development
- Working on multiple high priority complex product releases
- Innovating on existing products and or cultivating new ideas to enhance our overall feature set
- Set the strategic direction and give team goals for direction of deliverables
Data, Analysis & Measuring
- Spend time creating KPIs that feed into the overall OKRs and move the needle of the business
- Manage the team's response to the requirements and adjust where needed to ensure progress is moving forward effectively to meet end goal expectations
The Right Stuff
- 8 years of Total Product management experience or equivalent amount of product based work.
- 2 years of People management or directing project work with other team members, leading teams or task force projects.
- Advanced level of knowledge of querying languages and object oriented programming languages (SQL, Python, Looker etc) is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of data analysis, metrics and using information to make decisions and provide guidance.
- Proficient in market knowledge in the industry.
- Technical knowledge of architecture and design and pros and cons of different approaches.
- Understanding of cause and effect to solve problems and recommend solutions/product updates.
- Understands how to make decisions based on tradeoffs and impact.
- Highly developed multi-tasking skills to handle large complex tasks with multiple components.
- Advanced time management skills in order to assess 2 - 3 months into the future and able to plan for team needs/deliverables.
- Advanced communication skills and ability to manage and mentor team members to help coach them forward in their development.
- Advanced communication skills to provide the appropriate level of detail to stakeholders for successful delivery of products.

Base compensation range for position: $172,000 - $210,000
Each year Pie reviews company performance and may grant discretionary bonuses to eligible team members.

This role will work in our Denver (preferred) office once our office re-opens, also has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States*, and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
