We are seeking a Director of Strategy to lead and manage the Strategy team and report directly into our Chief Strategy Officer. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead the development of results-oriented cross functional strategy projects and program integration. With your team, you will develop action-driven recommendations to key business questions, backed by sound business analytics, and support long term growth and strategic decisions.  Working with stakeholders across the company, this role will encompass various strategic initiatives and will work with teams to implement approved recommendations. Our ideal candidate is laser focused on delivering measurable results, and has hands on experience in strategy, financial modeling, and a track record of building and managing high performance teams to success. What You’ll Do:

  • Work on a wide range of strategic projects and initiatives and be responsible for scoping, developing, delivering and implementing them across all departments within Havenly. 
  • Drive to decisions that will show results for the business in both the near and long term and build consensus and alignment on those decisions across the company.
  • Shape and lead strategic thinking based upon insights gathered through research, specifically on how to win in the home design category (identify growth drivers, trends, claims, price points, etc.), and make solid recommendations for our own new product innovation.
  • Ensure continued alignment with the Leadership team to inform strategic decisions and increasing visibility of the impacts of those decisions amongst stakeholders across the business.
  • Be an expert on Havenly brand by providing insights on strategic landscape, customer feedback loops, brand and user analytics, and competitive positioning. 
  • Lead the team in building deeper customer data sets to drive insights on how to best attract, convert and retain Havenly clients over the long term.
  • Support annual strategic business and resource planning.
  • Develop points of view through cross-project synthesis to inspire colleagues and deepen our position as market leaders.
  • Embrace a mixture of both quantitative and qualitative methods to back-up strategic recommendations with robust and reliable data.
  • Develop plans, forecasts, and analyses for strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects, including new business lines / markets / products analysis, strategic decision-making in day-to-day operations, and other growth initiatives.
  • Continuously develop and innovate around both standard, ad-hoc reporting and analytics, and lead the Strategy team to do the same.

When you join us you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred.
  • 10 + years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, or corporate strategy, business development, and/or senior business operations leadership.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering results-driven strategic recommendations, business modeling, and creating meaningful analysis to drive key business decisions.
  • Proven ability to work across various stakeholder groups to drive consensus and execute on recommendations to show measurable results.
  • Track record of attracting, developing and leading strong talent and building high performance teams a must.

  • An owner through and through. You have a willingness to tackle problems through to solutions and an ability to work both independently and across functions.
  • Curious, nearly to a fault; your insatiable desire to get beyond surface level learning and uncover true insight is fueled by asking 2nd, 3rd and 4th order questions.
  • An excellent communicator. You have excellent communication and presentation skills. You are highly organized, have exceptional attention to detail, and proven project management capabilities.
  • Unwaveringly objective; you represent the voice of the consumer in all situations, especially when learning is counter to initial hypotheses or prior learning. 

Additional Details:

  • This is a full-time exempt position headquartered in Denver, CO.  While we are all currently working from home until at least August, our goal is to eventually return to our beautiful Denver office and collaborate in person on a hybrid work from home and work from office model.
  • Targeted compensation range for this role: $150-200K/year, dependent upon experience.  This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.
