The Position

We are seeking a Director, Product Management t o join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
Business Line:

• Lead the product function for the Connect Business Line, where we're building an open and extensible technology platform used by Uplight, our utility partners, and the clean energy ecosystem to collectively innovate and accelerate decarbonization
• Align the North Star vision of the business line to the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy
• Formulate and execute long-term planning for the business line's product portfolio
• Interface with other leaders within the organization to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives. Be the primary leader and decision maker on operational matters as it relates to the product's direction and ensure product goals and objectives (both internal and external) are met or exceeded
• Manage product development across multiple solutions, effectively driving strategy and implementation in alignment with company goals
• Contribute to the financial health and viability of the Business Line by leading commercial/go-to-market initiatives as well as managing product cost

Product Organization:

• Own (with your team) products from discovery to launch to sunset, articulating a convincing story about how those products will allow to achieve the product strategy and demonstrating that the capabilities you and your team launch are incrementally delivering maximum value to the customers and to Uplight
• Lead a team of Product Managers enabling them to grow and operate more effectively through hiring, mentorship, systems and processes
• Drive a culture of product expertise and build systems that help every teammate at Uplight understand our product, customers, users and market
• Measure and optimize product performance against key utility, market, and/or Uplight operational performance outcomes
• Engage with end-users, customers, and prospects to understand their problems, and develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape. Be recognized by the customer-facing teams for your ability to create customer stakeholder champions
• Collaborates with Product Marketing on market research; monitors competitive activity, identifies customer needs and uses this information to drive product roadmap and supporting development activities
• Anticipate blockers, conflicts, and obstacles, and proactively problem solve and/or escalate for support
• Be an expert on our competition
• Partner with Engineering leadership to ensure teams are clear on strategic direction and drive towards continuous delivery improvement
• Role model and guide collaboration across the entire Uplight value chain, including sales, marketing, customer success, operations and product implementation, to ensure successful delivery of utility value and product outcomes

Customers:

• Interface directly with Utility clients and stakeholders to collaboratively drive toward desired outcomes
• Lead engaging end-to-end product demonstration and talk to the strengths and competitive differentiators of the product line
• Serve as a product advisor for Uplight's customers through pre and post sales activities. This includes, but is not limited to, working directly with customers to solicit input on current and future product offerings as well as conducting more structured product analysis

What you bring to Uplight:

• 9+ years of related professional experience
• A mature leadership style that holds the team accountable and creates loyalty
• A collaborative work ethic and experience working not only with Product and Engineering teams, but also other key stakeholders across the Uplight value stream
• Experience with Agile product development
• Experience designing user-centric products, both B2B and B2C
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for clean energy
• Bonus Points for experience in the energy sector (not required)

Salary Range: $150,000 to $185,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
