We are looking for a Technical Product Management leader to drive the adoption of RingCentral platform across multiple internal and external teams. This role requires strong interaction with executives, and will provide tremendous opportunity for visibility across all of engineering and product at RingCentral. The ideal candidate has a successful track record leading platform to drive innovation speed and efficiency, including APIs, authentication, security, user management, common services and service architectures (API gateway vs. service mesh). They should have a ‘lead from the front’ attitude, taking a hands-on approach to problem solving while being equally comfortable leading a team of product managers to success, providing support, professional development and guidance to their team.
Responsibilities
Leadership and collaboration with product management and engineering teams including responsibility assignment, hiring, mentorship, and performance assessment.
Lead and grow a team of product managers, while collaborating with engineering teams to deliver RingCentral Platform services to scale efficiency for internal and external developers.
Provide strategic thinking and collaborative product management support that spans both the Platform Infrastructure and Developer Platform organizations, including setting standards for API design, authentication, security, user management etc., along with scaling microservices delivery via patterns like API gateway and service mesh.
Evangelize internally and externally for Platform services and work directly with product managers and engineering to understand infrastructure and common services needs and use cases.
Deliver vision and requirement documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
Define the KPIs and the mechanisms that measure product and engineering efficiency to help us be transparent and intellectually honest.
Foster a product management culture that is innovative, collaborative, curious, and focused on internal and external platform customers to deliver on the mission of accelerating platform adoption.
Establish long-term plans that support overall company goals and mission, partnering with other product teams within Platform and teams across RingCentral.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar discipline (MBA preferred).
5+ years of product management experience leading highly successful, cloud native, products targeted to the enterprise market.
Previous experience in a technical role (e.g. system engineering, solutions architect or R&D) highly desirable.
Passion for elegant and efficient product delivery across multiple product and engineering organizations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions and detailed technical discussions.
Be comfortable delivering a compelling product demonstration, including the ability to tell a story and communicate business value in addition to product features and benefits.
Proven ability to excite and lead a successful cross-functional team.
Experience representing the customer, both internal and external; Experience being the champion and voice of customers by building impactful, personal relationships with customers, engineering teams, and the field, in addition to bringing the customer’s voice into the creation process.
Strong detail orientation and sense of end-to-end ownership.
