Director, Product Management - ePay
Description
In this hands-on management role, the candidate is responsible for the complete Product Lifecycle and commercial management of Electronic Payments related software and solutions, to include day-to-day management of Technical Product Managers, providing direction, motivation, technical support and professional development opportunities.
Will evaluate business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment.
Applies broad knowledge of financial services, financial business processes, customer experience design and GHX capabilities with in-depth analysis of market position to create and expand the portfolio of GHX products and solution alternatives.
Works cross-functionally with multiple GHX departments and business units to create products and validates early product definitions with customers. Significant levels of interaction with customers, account management and sales roles.
Using technical expertise and industry experience, formulates product strategies and identifies new product opportunities.
Will also ensure alignment of roadmap to customer needs and business goals, to include overseeing successful product market acceptance, launch, enhancement and end-of-life while managing the business performance of the product through the lifecycle.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Assesses market opportunities and customer needs to develop business case, product strategy and product roadmaps.
- Effectively communicate and lead product discussions with senior leaders at customers and business partners.
- Actively manage short and long term roadmap via effective prioritization, capacity planning and communication to meet vision, market needs and scale.
- Investigates different technologies and business models (both inside and outside the company), and considers how they might be applied to solve a given market problem.
- Monitors and analyzes how well a GHX product is performing, to include product utilization, profitability, actual to planned revenue, customer satisfaction, and market share.
- Reviews internal measurements to determine how the product impacts the company operations.
- Reviews areas that may impact product profitability, to include product life cycle, quality, technical support, marketing programs, and sales support.
- Understands why recent evaluators of the product did or did not buy.
- Understands and drives the effect customer experience and design have on customer adoption, growth and scale.
- Manages a group of products and services that meet marketing needs. Assesses the viability of the portfolio and how its components contribute to corporate strategy and distinctive competence.
- Manages the portfolio like a “product” (business case, positioning, sales process, market requirements, and marketing plan).
- Solves market problems using distinctive competence and creativity.
- Creates product roadmaps illustrating the vision for the product. Describes the idea or stereotypical users that represent the programming targets.
- Writes scenarios for user personas to describe instances of market problems or situations that illustrate why product requirement is necessary.
- Reviews the release plan with periodic checkpoints of progress in each of the operational groups.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or a combination of education and related experience.
- 7+ years’ Product Management experience, preferably with background in software-based solutions for accounting (AP, AR) and/or finance, supply chain and/or complex collaboration applications.
- 7+ years’ proven professional experience in banking, finance, or financial technology (fintech) with a focus in payments (B2B), preferably in healthcare. Prior management and leadership experience, either leading dedicated indirect teams or direct reports desired.
- 7+ years’ team management experience, to include proven ability to identify talent.
- Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) delivered applications and business models.
- Experience with blended delivery models (in source, outsource, partnered).
- Strong business acumen, with an understanding of accounting/financial principles.
- Highly adept at working collaboratively across multiple business and technical functions.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to be self-directed with strong initiative.
- Sound project management skills, and well organized.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or a combination of education and related experience.
- 7+ years’ Product Management experience, preferably with background in software-based solutions for accounting (AP, AR) and/or finance, supply chain and/or complex collaboration applications.
- 7+ years’ proven professional experience in banking, finance, or financial technology (fintech) with a focus in payments (B2B), preferably in healthcare. Prior management and leadership experience, either leading dedicated indirect teams or direct reports desired.
- Will substitute significant experience in customer experience design, UI design, or similar for some years of experience in banking, finance, fintech.
Estimated Salary range for this position: $129,750 - $169,050
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
