Overview

Wunderkin’s Buyer/Demand Planner will be the head of the merchandising team and place an informed order 3600+ bows on a week by week timeline.  She/he will be skilled at using data, social media polls and information from creative/marketing team to predict customer demand and create assortments for weekly launches of handmade bows.  She/he will manage an inventory specialist assistant, that will help intake weekly finished goods, distribute weekly orders to our team of 40+ seamstresses and communicate with production team as needed.  Because Wunderkin Co employs/contracts a mix of in-house and remote [work from home] seamstresses to produce 14,000+ bows a month, this position requires being flexible and creative in your understanding of supply chain and our unique production model.   She/he must be willing to help develop scalable processes - and pivot quickly - as we create innovative solutions as we continue to grow. We have loyal raving-fan customers and have grown 100% through social media. We have a fine-tuned and laser-focused understanding of customer demand, and a well-developed creative/marketing team.   We need a star operations-minded, data-driven team mate to help us achieve the next level of scale.

Responsibilities

  • Order raw materials from vendors, and manage an impeccable and timely supply chain.

  • Maintain friendly and professional relationship with vendors.

  • Work with creative team to decide purchasing quantities.

  • Track incoming materials as we receive them, and keep accurate on-hand quantities.

  • Create weekly bow order according to marketing launches and restock trigger points.

  • Analyze launch day and sell-through quantities to inform future ordering with growth goals.

  • Oversee intake process of bows weekly - managing Inventory Specialist

  • Work with fulfilment manager to maintain accurate inventory quantities in fulfillment room at all times, managing an auditing schedule.

  • Work with production team to identify weekly yields

  • Help implement an inventory tracking software or app/process that is integrated with Shopify that will aid in establishing reorder points and intake.

  • Analyze product and market trends to increase forecast accuracy

  • Work directly with production and sales team by developing forecast for new product lines

  • Develop and implement processes to improve demand planning efficiency

  • Play a key role in the sales and operations process

  • Executes POs accurately and in a timely manner.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Business with a supply chain, merchandising, logistics emphasis (or similar)

  • Ability to predict, recognize and define problems, and generate, select and implement timely solutions

  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

  • Ability to translate complex inventory tracking systems to the team

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and google drive.

  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.

  • An analytical mind with strong math skills.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to thrive and pivot in a fast-growth, collaborative start-up environment.  You can think on your toes, and are energized by a young company and the ability to bring order to our current strengths (marketing and creative).

  • Ability to create processes and bring order/systems to an existing role.

Pay: $60,000 + health benefits + self-care stipend [401K coming soon!]
